  • Liza sat with a calm, detached look on her face, while Old Madam Rhett’s expression grew increasingly sour. Trying to keep control of her anger, Aleta spoke in a cold voice, “Liza, I came all the way here to personally take you home. Is this really how you choose to respond? Didn't your mother teach you to respect your elders?”
  • Liza’s smile faded. Her voice turned cold as she replied, “My mother passed away a long time ago. You’re right no one was there to teach me how to behave, especially not you. You didn’t raise me, and you've made it quite clear that you don’t like me. So really, there’s no need for you to take me back.”
  • Aleta’s face tightened with fury. Her eyes narrowed into a glare, and her jaw clenched in frustration.
