Chapter 2 Alpha Xander's Human Mate-2

  • As soon as we alighted from the plane, a car was already waiting for us.
  • “Mr Hudson, welcome to America, my name is Ryan, I am your official driver from this moment on.” The driver introduced himself.
  • Turns out the company has sent him. I personally can’t wait to see the house they kept for us. I mean with all the VIP treatments we have been receiving so far, it must be really grand. As we made our way to our residence, I looked out of the window trying to see if my eyes would catch something that would interest me. Sadly not yet.
  • After an hour driving, we arrived in a gated community with beautiful luxurious houses at both sides.
  • “Wow! The area is so fine!” Mom spoke out exactly what was on my mind. We soon arrived at our house. “The Hudson family” is written on the mailbox. They must have really prepared for our arrival.
  • The house was a mighty two story building which I personally think it’s a little too big for us. The house's exterior has a contemporary outline with white painting and huge glass windows.
  • “I think I'm going to like it here!” Mom said she still has that big smile on her face.
  • “ Mr and Mrs Hudson, Miss Hudson, welcome to Lakeview estate. My name is Anita, I am the agent in charge of this side of the estate”. The lady in black suit who was standing by the doorway gave a little intro.
  • “ Thank you Anita, a pleasure meeting you.”
  • “The pleasure it’s all mine, Mr Hudson. Please come in”. Anita opened the door and ushered us in. “ once again you are welcome, the house contains five bedrooms, four of which are upstairs and the guest room is on the ground floor. The house also comes with a library, cinema room, a wine cellar in the basement and an outdoor swimming pool. She led us to the backyard and showed us around. The swimming pool was infinity and was attached to the lake behind it. There is a swing at the garden, a greenhouse filled with scent flowers and a pool table at the patio.
  • “I know I am going to like it here!”. Mom quoted as she and dad moved around the house. As for me, I was still awestruck.
  • “I have to get going if you need anything, please feel free to give me a call. And In case you get bored, the estate has a men’s club, a women’s club, a sports center, a gym and a park. Do feel free to visit any one of these places.” Anita explained as she handed her card, the house keys and documents to mom and made her way to the door before she paused and turned as if she remembered something.
  • “One more thing, the estate has a spa and is giving free VIP treatment to their new members , so you might want to take advantage of that.” Anita said before making her way out of the house.
  • “ we are totally going to go!”. Mom and I shouted at the same time. Going to the spa with mom is a monthly ritual mom and I never missed and here we are, given a golden opportunity to go for free. We won’t miss it for anything in the world. As soon as we are settled, they should expect us.
  • I made my upstairs and went through all the three bedrooms apart from the master bedroom. I finally chose the one that has a view of the lake. The room had a queen size bed in the center, a vanity table at the side and a study table that is attached with a bookshelf by it. It has a walk-in closet and an amazing bathroom. A glass shower and a large bathtub in the middle of the bathroom. If my room is this big, I wonder how big is the size of the master bedroom. I made a mental note to check it out later on. I decided to take a short nap . I just had a nineteen hour thirty minutes journey.
  • As soon as I woke up, I quickly took a shower and called my friends on a group video call on WhatsApp. I showed them the house. They all shouted when they saw my room and said they needed to visit very soon. After talking for hours I finally ended the call and went down for breakfast. Mom had ordered Chinese. Immediately after dinner I went back to sleep because heaven knows how tired I was.
  • I went to sleep with a thought in my heart. Maybe moving here wasn’t that bad.
  • The next day, mom and I spent the entire day shopping. We first of all went grocery shopping and then clothes shopping because according to mom; new country, new life, new clothes.
  • The week came and passed with us settling down completely and today is Monday.
  • The day I am suppose to start a new school. Personally I think every high school student hates this very moment in which they had to be “the new kid at school”. Honestly, it is very terrifying because you don’t know what to expect.
  • Different thoughts keep coming to my mind. Will the school be like all these American movies and books where the new student gets bullied by the whole school? I hope not because I have never been bullied in my whole life going to school so I don’t think I can survive being bullied if it happened now.
  • I got up early in the morning and got dressed. The school I was enrolled in is a private school therefore the students wear uniforms. A white long sleeve, a bob berry dark blue skirt and necktie and a dark blue blazer or you can choose to wear a dark blue sweater instead of the blazers. For the shoe, you can wear any type of black shoe of your choice. So I decided to stick to wearing black Nike sneakers so that I will draw any unnecessary attention to myself. The more invisible I am, the better it will be for me.
  • I stood to look at myself at the mirror. Dress in the complete uniform including the blazers and my hair was packed in a ponytail. I think i'm good to go!. I took my backpack and went downstairs to have breakfast. Oh I did I mention that the house has a elevator? Yeap that’s right. My room is on the second floor so lazy me don’t need to climb all this stairs. I will always follow the elevator except it’s stops working and for my own benefit, I am not praying for that to happen.
  • I went down and found mom and dad already eating their breakfast.
  • “Good morning mom, morning dad!”. I said as I pecked them both on the check and then sat down to eat. Mom made bacon and eggs for breakfast. I made a short prayer and thank God that it’s not pancakes. Not that I hate eating pancakes. No! It’s just that since pancakes it’s apparently the easiest breakfast to make, six out of the seven days in a week, mom makes pancakes for breakfast. Dad and I are so tired of eating the same thing all the time. So I am actually grateful that we are having something else. Maybe mom was serious about her “new country, new life” thing.
  • After we had breakfast, mom volunteered to drop me at school. As soon we were at the school street, we could see the school gate and beside it is a carved stone with “Welcome to Greenwood High School” written on it. Soon we arrived at the gate and mom dropped me up and promised to come and pick me up when the schools closes by two in the afternoon.
  • “ Okay Claire, you can do this!”. I said motivating myself and I made my way into the school premises.
  • Okay I can’t do this. I froze at the exact directions I was in as soon as I entered the school. The school building is four stories high and made entirely of glass. Impressive I thought as I made my way into the building.
  • Immediately I entered, I went to the admin secretary and collected the schedule and the school map.
  • I stood at the middle of the school’s hallway looking very confused. I didn’t understand the school map at all. I have no idea how to get to class.
  • I was one seconds away from crying when a girl stopped to help me.
  • “Hello dear, you look confused, I am guessing you are a new student and don’t understand the school’s map, am I right?.
  • I nodded my head, grateful that someone is willing to help me out. She collected my map and studied it.
  • “Well lucky you, we have the same classes all through! Let’s go, we have Chemistry now!”. She said to me and led the way to the class.
  • “Oh sorry I didn’t introduce myself. Am Ashley and you?”.
  • “Am Claire, it’s a pleasure meeting you!”.
  • ****
  • Soon it was lunch time and Ashley invited me to sit with her and her friends. They were very nice to me. Becky, Jennifer, Cole, Matthew and Aisha. Cole and Aisha are dating.
  • “So Claire, why did you move all the way from Australia to here?”. Cole asked me.
  • “Dad got a promotion and came with a transfer and here we are!”. I said and the conversation went on.
  • The rest of the week and and passed quite normal. One think I was sure of, is that staying here may not be that bad.
  • ***
  • On Saturday, mon and I went to the spa and enjoyed our free VIP treatment.
