Chapter 2 Drunk

  • The sound of the music was deafening. That one famous nightclub in Rome is a place where businessmen, models, and artists gather to enjoy the beauty of the nightlife entertainment.
  • The nightclub, which is often visited by people from the upper classes, often becomes a one night stand for men and women who are bored with their partners.
  • The smell of tobacco mixed with expensive wine and the sound of clinking shot glasses filled the nightclub. A beautiful woman sits gracefully enjoying her drink in one of the VIP-only spots. A guest who is ready to spend a lot of money just to open a table in a special place for VIP guests.
  • “Xander, you suck!” Audrey took a sip of the vodka in her hand. God knows how many times she's had that vodka. Audrey's mind was so messed up.
  • It seemed that all the men's gazes were fixed on Audrey who was sitting alone. A long red dress, with a high cleavage made Audrey very stunning. A charming appearance, beautiful face, beautiful flowing blonde hair—Audrey was like the figure of a princess in the middle of a nightclub.
  • “Miss, you are drunk. Did you come with the driver?” A waiter politely asked Audrey.
  • “I'm not drunk. You don't have to take care of me. I can take care of myself. Better you go,” said Audrey who purposely chased the waiter away. Even the waiter did not dare to disturb Audrey. The waiter immediately excused herself from Audrey's presence.
  • Audrey took her phone. The woman's gaze shifted to her photo with Xander on the screen of her hone. A smile appeared on her face—a smile that seemed to be mocking to herself. All this time she wanted Xander, but he didn't. Her fiancé always rejected her, repeatedly.
  • Tired? Obviously, yes!
  • Audrey is tired. However, even so, she would never let Xander go. That man was her first love and Audrey wanted him to be her last love too.
  • When Audrey was looking at her photo with Xander, Audrey's brain prompted her to look for Xander's number in her phone contacts, and immediately call her fiancé.
  • However, unfortunately there is no answer. As usual, Xander ignored her. Answering the call from her is the hardest thing for him it's seems. Busy and busy. That's what Xander would always say. Just when Audrey was about to hang up the call, she suddenly got an answer.
  • “Hello, Xander?” greeted Audrey half drunk when the call connected.
  • “Audrey, are you at the nightclub?” Xander shouted from across there who must have realized that Audrey was in a nightclub.
  • “Xander, you suck! Why do you always postpone our wedding?” Audrey raved. The woman was already under the influence of alcohol.
  • “Shit, Audrey! Do not go any where! I will pick you up,” growled Xander.
  • Call disconnected. Audrey shrugged nonchalantly when Xander hung up the call first. Xander wants to pick her up? Impossible! At this hour, her fiancé must be busy with his work. Audrey already knew Xander's character very well.
  • Night's getting late. The atmosphere in the nightclub was getting livelier. Everyone was in pairs, but it was different with Audrey sitting in a chair alone with no one to accompany her.
  • Audrey felt the emptiness of her heart. Since the incident at her birthday party, Audrey has felt very hurt but unfortunately Audrey can't back down. Her love for Xander is so strong.
  • When Audrey was enjoying her drink, suddenly Audrey's hand was grabbed by a strong hand. Reflexively, Audrey lifted her head, looking at the owner of the sturdy hand.
  • “Xander? It's that you?” Audrey smiled with sad eyes staring at Xander intently.
  • Xander ignored Audrey's words. The man immediately carried Audrey's body like a sack of rice—and took Audrey out of the nightclub.
  • “Xander! Put me down! Why are you carrying me like this? You make my head spin!” cried Audrey while slapping Xander on the back. Xander ignored Audrey's words again. The man continued to walk away from the nightclub.
  • ***
  • Bam!
  • Xander slammed Audrey's body on the bed. There is no other choice. Xander is forced to take Audrey to his private apartment. Audrey's drunken state did not allow Xander to take his fiancée home. Xander didn't want Audrey's parents to misunderstand.
  • “Have you gone mad, Audrey!” Xander exclaimed in annoyance as he looked at his fiancé who was lying helplessly on the bed.
  • Audrey had tears in her eyes. The woman sobbed loudly enough to make Xander speechless. “What am I lacking, Xander? Why do you always reject me? Am I not pretty to you, hm?” she said with tears streaming down her cheeks. The woman's sobs were pitiful, as if she was holding a wound so deep.
  • Silence, there's nothing Xander can do but be silent. Drunk often makes everyone vent their innermost heart. And Xander heard with his own ears that Audrey was so hurt.
  • Xander exhaled heavily. All this time he had never been able to love Audrey. His mind and heart could never focus on Audrey. The only thing Xander wanted was the figure of a woman who had left him. If Xander loved Audrey, it wouldn't be like this.
  • “You always push yourself, Audrey. You always knew I couldn't marry you, but you always forced me,” Xander said as he closed his eyes briefly.
  • “I love you, Xander. Love you so much. I don't want to be far from you,” Audrey sobbed pitifully.
  • Xander ignored Audrey's words. The man just pulled the blanket over Audrey's body, and stepped out of her room, leaving Audrey still crying bitterly. This isn't the first time Audrey has said she loves Xander. But unfortunately that love will not be able to be reciprocated by Xander.
  • When Xander had just stepped out, Xander's gaze accidentally saw a display with a picture of a horse sitting on the table. A gift from a woman that Xander loves and wants.
  • Only now Xander didn't know where that woman was. Xander's heart constricted at the thought of that woman. If only that woman were here, then Xander would fight for her.
  • 'I miss you so much, Serry,' thought Xander with a look on his face that showed deep longing.
