Chapter 60

• Bella was laid to rest and the family had a beautiful memorial service in her honor. Preston was still AWOL and the charges against him now included manslaughter, among other things. The police were following all leads but it seemed like he had just disappeared off the face of the earth. Lana was obviously distraught but Jordan was there to comfort her. She couldn’t get over the fact that Bella was being butchered with a knife while she was talking to her on the phone.
• “There was nothing you could have done to stop it, babe. It is what it is. You just need to accept it.” Jordan told her countless times.
• They left for New York a few days later and she was glad for the change of scenery, although she would miss her friends, they promised to visit.
