Chapter 6 First Kiss

• Serena's P. O. V
• “Where did you go?” my mum asked immediately I walked into her ward.
• “Umm.. I..” I was about to say something but she beat me to it.
• “I heard that the new..” she was about to speak.
• “I've taken care of it, it's fine. You're obviously feeling sleepy, right?. Now sleep” I said trying to tuck her into bed.
• “Don't try to tuck me in to sleep. I overhead from a nurse.. cough… cough.. that the new owner is going to renovate the hospital in and out” my mum said, looking too weakly.
• “Mum. I said I have taken care of it,everything's under control. Don't worry, just sleep” I tried coaxing her to sleep.
• “Under control? Is Alessandro here?”my mum continued to ask.
• “Ugh. Mum, can't I handle things myself? huh?” I asked, pouting,
• “Ok, ok. I understand now. Don't get angry” she said.
• “I'm not angry. I'm just sad that you don't trust me to handle things for us” I said, looking down at my shoes, trying to express how sad I was.
• “I'm sorry, ok?. I'll sleep now, happy?” she said with a smile.
• “Mmm, be good. Sleep sleep” I finally tucked her in.
• She soon fell asleep, Isabella was also asleep. I decided to tidy up and go for a walk outside.
• I needed to go and refresh my mind, today's event came too quick and I made a decision that will……. improve everyone's ife I guess.
• “Knock Knock” the slight knocking on the door disrupted my thoughts.
• “yes, please come in” I answered gently.
• “Rena” The very familiar voice called out.
• I turned to see Alessandro standing at the door, a warm smile plastered on his face. He was wearing a green T-shirt, coupled with a baggy juggers on white Nike sneakers,his neck length hair tied behind him.
• He was so handsome!
• But he couldn't be compared to the man I met earlier, not at all!.
• That man was like a……. Wait! Why the comparison??
• My Alessandro is the most handsome!.
• “You're here” I returned the smile.
• “Yes, happy to see me?” he asked, walking towards me
• “Of course” I said.
• Is there anytime I would be unhappy to see him??
• “Eaten? I brought food” he said as he put the polythene bags he bought in with him on the table beside my mum's bed.
• “No, I haven't” I answered truthfully,
• “That means I came right on time, now come sit” he took out a little food flask from the bag and held my hand, pulling me to the sofa.
• My heart was ready to jump out of my chest!
• “Ah” he gestured for me to open my mouth,
• “No. I can feed myself” I attempted to take the flask and spoon from his hands but he refused.
• “It's been long I fed you, I want to and you're not allowed to refuse” he said as he brought the spoon filled with Pancit bihon(noodle dish) to my mouth.
• “Mmm, its delicious” I ate it and gave him a thumbs up,
• “Guess who prepared it” he said, bringing another spoonful to my mouth.
• “I know its you, nobody cooks better than you do” I praised him, showing my sweetest smile.
• He stared at me with a smile on his face, not saying anything.
• His dark orbs were so mesmerizing, I don't know why but my gaze landed on his lips.
• I was so lost in his gaze that I felt that like he was leaning in to kiss me.
• My head exploded the moment his lips touched mine.
• He.. He.. He actually kissed me?
• My brain froze!
• His lips moved gently on mine.
• My heart was going wild, like it was running a marathon. A sweet feeling arosed in my heart, a very sweet feeling.
• I guess this sweet feeling rushed to my hands, as it lifted and wrapped around his neck pulling him deeper into my mouth.
• This was my first kiss!
• It was so deep.
• I was out of breath when he released me,
• “Serena I.. I.. I” he tried saying something.
• I didn't have anything to say either.
• Awkwardness filled the air.
• “I'm sorry” Alessandro said,
• hearing his voice, I looked up at him.
• Why was he apologizing??
• “It's ok” I said,
• “Are you mad at me?” he asked in a very gentle tone.
• “No” I shook my head.
• “I.. ringggg.. ringggg” he was was about to say something before his phone rang. He stood up to answer the call.
• “Baby, where are you. I've been waiting at the airport for over an hour now” a female voice spoke immediately he answered the call.
• Although he was away from me, I could still hear it when she spoke.
• He replied but I couldn't hear what he said.
• “Rena, I'll be back. I need to be somewhere” he said as he made for the door.
• “Tell Bella and aunt that I came over and don't forget to eat” The door being shut was what followed.
• I immediately felt that something was wrong.
• ‘Baby’ was a name called between lovers….. but he just……
• My hand found its way to my lips. I could still feel his lips on mine.
• Who was he going to pick up?
• I have to know!
• I got up from the sofa and walked to the side table beside my mum's bed,pulled out a drawer from it and took out the little money I was keeping.
• I counted it, it was enough to take me to the Airport.
• I looked around the ward and at the two sleeping figures on the bed.
• Everything was fine.
• I rushed out immediately and stopped a taxi.
• “To the airport please” I said as entered the taxi.
• “Put on your seat belts ma'am” the driver said as he drove off.
• Every thing on the road to the airport were quite familiar.
• Although I had been to the airport before, it was when I was still a teenager.

• Nevan got down from his car and walked into the brown ancient looking Palace.
• He entered the living room and bowed in front of an elderly man.
• “Grandfather, I'm back” Nevan said,
• “Oh oh oh, I can see that my dear. My dear grand son is back, there should be a feast” The old man exclaimed in joy.
• “How did the deal in China go?” Nevan's grandfather asked
• “I cracked it” Nevan answered as he stood straight.
• “I'm not surprised! , is there any business deal you can't crack?” Nevan's grandfather praised
• “Oh! I'm sure you know why I called for a family dinner. Your cousin just got married” The old man told Nevan.
• “I know grandpa” Nevan said,
• “Good, now come sit” the old man patted the space beside him.
• Nevan sat down with him on the gold rimmed and exquisite black sofa.
• “Ma, how are you doing?” Nevan greeted his mother.
• “Chen Xiao was just talking about you, Nevan” the old man said with a slight laugh.
• It was evident that he was in a very good mood.
• “I'm very well my son” Chen Xiao replied Nevan.
• “Nevan, it's been long. How are you doing?” Joshua, Nevan's cousin spoke up.
• “Good” Nevan answered
• “Nevan, my boy. You didn't even say hello to us” Joshua's father said
• “My bad, I didn't notice you” Nevan gave a formal smile
• Joshua's father “.....”
• What a blatant insult!
• “Master Juan, lunch has been prepared and served” The butler informed.
• “Ok, let's all head to the dinning room” the old man said,
• Master Juan walked out of the living room with the help of Nevan, who supported him.
• While the others followed behind.
• They all sat down at the dinning table according to their positions. The old master at the head of the table, Nevan and his mother at his right, Joshua, his wife and his father, at the old man's left.
• The table was filled with exquisite and water mouthering food.
• “Joshua, I'm expecting a grandchild soon” the old master said,
• “Sure dad, my son is very capable” Joshua's father praised.
• “Antonio, I never asked for your opinion” the old master gave Joshua's father a disdainful look.
• “Nevan, when are you going to get married? , let alone give me a grandchild?” the old master turned to Nevan.
• “You have to give me a grandchild soon, otherwise….. cough.. cough… cough” he coughed halfway through his sentence.
• “Dad, dad, have water” Chen xiao rushed up and served the old man water.
• Nevan's brow furrowed in displeasure. He understood what the old man meant by ‘otherwise’.
• “Oh grand dad, don't worry. Me and my wife will get you a grandchild soon” Joshua spoke up.
• “Yes dad, don't worry,. Joshua will work it out “ Antonio said
• “shut up!” the old master shouted at Antonio.
• Antonio did not understand why the old master loved Nevan so much. His son got married yet it was Nevan being told to get a child.
• “Grandfather, my girlfriend is pregnant” Nevan spoke up.
