Chapter 12 SSS Class Individual
- Everyone's ears perked up.
- Their eyes were fixed on Zoe's crimson lips.
- From those beautifully contoured lips came three words.
- “Josquin Renovation Group.”
- Gasp!
- Gasps of surprise echoed throughout the room.
- All eyes were drawn to Quinley.
- Josquin Renovation Group? That obscure little firm of Quinley's? Are you kidding me?
- Quinley was also dumbfounded.
- I can't believe it! I won the tender! Out of all these major renovation companies, it is I who won! Is it for real? Why does it feel like a dream?
- “I object!”
- Suddenly, a furious roar echoed through the air.
- Whoosh!
- Xavier rose to his feet, directing his anger toward Zoe as he exclaimed, “I suspect underhanded activity in this tender!”
- “You must be Xavier Youngblood from Youngblood Renovation. Please mind your words!” Zoe uttered coldly. “Our Woodhaven Group has always adhered to the principles of openness and fairness in our tender. If you insist on your allegations, our company reserves the right to pursue you for slander!”
- “Slander? Am I slandering?” Xavier pointed at Quinley and continued, “The registered capital of her shabby little company is merely one million. How on earth could it handle a massive renovation project worth fifty million? Without underhanded activity, how could she have won the tender?”
- “Xavier, please turn to the last page of the tender document and read the final entry!”
- Zoe held the tender document up high. “This clause clearly states that the right to interpret belongs to our company. Do you understand?”
- “I don't!” Xavier exclaimed in anger. “Before the tender opening, I spoke with Wesley, the deputy director of your project department. He mentioned that, in principle, our Youngblood family would win the tender. I'd like you to explain why things turned out this way now?”
- “Xavier, it seems you won't admit your mistakes until it's too late, right?”
- With a light scoff, Zoe declared, “All right then. While everyone is here, I'll clear things up once and for all! Firstly, you said Ms. Quinley Calloway's Josquin Renovation Group can't handle the project. Am I right? Who told you that Josquin Renovation Group's registered capital is only one million? Ms. Camilla Cooper, the CEO of our company, has already agreed to sign the public offering document for Josquin Renovation Group, investing a whopping five hundred million! Our company will hold a forty-nine percent stake!”
- She paused before asking sharply, “Are you saying that a renovation company with a registered capital of five hundred and one million can't handle a project worth fifty million?”
- “What?”
- Xavier was taken aback. “You've invested in Josquin Renovation Group? When did this happen?”
- Similarly startled, Quinley rose to her feet to ask, “Ms. Yates, did you... did you perhaps make a mistake?”
- First off, I'm the boss of Josquin Renovation Group. If someone invested, there was no way I wouldn't know about it. Next, Josquin Renovation Group never submitted any public offering document to outsiders!
- “Ms. Calloway, there's no mistake about it.”
- Flashing a smile, Zoe presented a check for five hundred million, saying, “This is the five hundred million in cash that our company is investing. I hope you'll accept it, Ms. Calloway.”
- Quinley didn't dare to accept it.
- To say that selling her Josquin Renovation Group wouldn't amount to five hundred million was an understatement. Even if the entire Calloway family assets were sold, they might not be enough.
- “Quinley, please accept it.”
- Joshua accepted it for her and placed it into her hands. “Congratulations on your great net worth increase and on winning the tender!” he said with a smile.
- “Joshua...”
- Quinley looked up in bewilderment, her vision suddenly blurring with unshed tears.
- She suspected that everything that had happened that day was because of Joshua.
- Still, how did Joshua manage to do it?
- “Xavier, your Youngblood Renovation has a registered capital of only two hundred million. Do you think you can compete with Josquin Renovation Group?”
- At that moment, Zoe continued, “Secondly, let's talk about Wesley. Though I'm not sure why he shared information with you, I know that it seriously violated the tendering principles of our company. If the result is pre-selected, where is the fairness and justice? So, Ms. Cooper personally approved the dismissal of Wesley this morning!”
- Xavier was taken aback once more and quickly asked, “Wesley was dismissed?”
- “Feel free to ask him personally for confirmation.”
- Zoe smiled and lifted her head, asking, “Any other questions?”
- Xavier was at a loss for words.
- Everyone from the various companies present for the tender was collectively rendered speechless.
- It was clear that Woodhaven Group was throwing full support behind Quinley's Josquin Renovation Group. Also, they had accurately anticipated the point where Xavier would cause trouble and had taken early measures to handle it.
- Seeing that words eluded Xavier, what could they possibly say?
- Those waiting to receive subcontracts from Xavier felt that way, even more so for those whose registered capital was even less than that of the Youngblood Renovation.
- “Congratulations to Josquin Renovation Group for winning the tender!”
- Zoe led the applause.
- Clap! Clap!
- Scattered applause echoed throughout the conference room.
- Many people stared at Quinley's figure with intense envy, their thoughts varied.
- “On a side note, our company also has another significant decision to officially announce to the public on this day of the tender opening!”
- Zoe gestured with both hands before continuing, “In light of Youngblood Renovation's secret collusion with our company's former deputy director, Wesley Xenos, and their under-the-table dealings that broke the rules, our company officially announces that from this day forward, all collaborations with the Youngblood family of Lofbury are officially terminated! This decision is not confined to our company's branch office in Lofbury, nor is it limited to the renovation business. The termination scope is nationwide and for all fields!”
- After a short pause, Zoe concluded, “Moreover, any company or group that has business dealings with the Youngblood family is excluded from our company's priority consideration for external cooperation. Thank you all!”
- She bowed respectfully, then withdrew.
- Click! Click! Click!
- Following the sharp clicks of high heels, the conference room fell silent.
- Everyone looked at Xavier with complex expressions, rendered completely speechless.
- The final announcement from Woodhaven Group was not just a termination of collaboration with the Youngblood family, but a full-scale boycott.
- Anyone wanting to secure a collaboration with Woodhaven Group must first consider severing ties with the Youngblood family.
- When purely observing the situation in Lofbury, such a boycott might be evenly matched.
- Given the power of the Youngblood family, they weren't necessarily afraid of Woodhaven Group.
- However, this boycott was not just confined to Lofbury. It was nationwide!
- Nationwide!
- This was a complete crackdown on Woodhaven Group by Woodhaven Group!
- Why?
- Was it merely because Xavier and Wesley were colluding?
- Who would believe that?
- “Is it you?”
- With fury in his eyes, Xavier fixed his gaze on Joshua, asking through gritted teeth, “Are you the one causing trouble?”
- “In the Youngblood family's perspective, do I, the destitute outcast, possess such immense power?”
- Joshua chuckled with amusement and continued, “Xavier, go back and tell William that he has twenty-nine days left of the time I've given him!”
- He didn't admit it.
- Yet, he didn't deny it either.
- Leaving only questions to let Xavier figure out himself, and threats.
- Let Xavier and the Youngblood family weigh it up for themselves!
- After saying those words, he took hold of Quinley's hand and turned to leave.
- Xavier's eyes were tinged with red, seething with so much frustration he could almost crush his back teeth!
- “Joshua, since you won't let my Youngblood family live, you shall meet your end!”
- Meanwhile, a young man stepped away from the crowd and hid in a corner of the conference room. He quietly pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
- Then, he reported in a hushed tone, “Wonderful news, Mr. Hoffman! I've found an SSS-class individual!”
