• Christian stood for a moment watching Lyn take the call, the man's screams were loud enough to be heard without activating the speaker.
• He was tempted to stay and listen to the entire conversation between father and daughter, mortified by the man's despotic attitude towards the girl, but he realized that would be a violation of his privacy, he could not be so absorbed, no matter how much he wanted to protect her. He reluctantly left the bathroom and went to get her tea.
• "Damn it Lynda, are you deaf? I asked you where the hell you've been and you left me standing here like an idiot waiting for your answer," the girl closed her eyes, took a deep breath. And counted to three before she answered him.
