Chapter 38 Last Request

• Emery cupped Jadeite’s face and even with only the silver light coming from the full moon shining upon them, she could see her wounds. It was obvious that they tortured her, but there was no time for her to tend to them because she might just lose her only chance of letting her leave the empire.
• “Jadeite… You do not have to reveal yourself to them. Cover up and pretend to be just another person I sent to deliver an important message. After you have given the letter, then you are free to leave and do anything you want.” Her hands then fell on Jadeite’s scarred hands. “Please… This is my last request…”
• Wiping off her tears, Jadeite finally nodded. Rather than staying in prison and continually face the torture that the emperor was making her go through, she would choose to be of service to Emery. With only one nod from her, she kept her distance.
