Chapter 6

  • Alpha Mike looked at me, confusion clearly visible in his eyes, maybe he was surprised that I actually went to find food on my own.
  • I could read the look in his eyes, and I couldn’t help but hold my forehead.
  • Was I that useless and helpless before?
  • In the bedroom.
  • I was starving, my stomach practically glued to my spine, but the moment I saw the array of delicious dishes the servants brought in, all my appetite disappeared.
  • I slowly placed my hand on my stomach.
  • Deep down, I knew this wasn’t a digestive issue.
  • My gut told me—I might be carrying life inside me.
  • Fuzzy flashes crossed my mind—fragments of a time when I might’ve been entangled with Alpha Mike for some reason.
  • This little life inside me… we were bound by blood.
  • I gently caressed my belly, whispering to the life within:
  • “You really picked the worst time to come…”
  • When Alpha Mike entered the room, I was staring out the window. My voice was firm, as if I had made up my mind.
  • “Alpha Mike, could you please ask Pack doctor for some mifepristone pills?”
  • Alpha Mike froze, seemingly in disbelief that I would actually make a request.
  • He asked calmly, “What are they for?”
  • “My period’s here. The cramps are killing me.” I turned to him and looked him dead in the eye. “Please.”
  • His eyes fell on the hand pressed against my lower abdomen.
  • After a moment, he nodded, almost like something beyond his control made him do it.
  • “Alright.”
  • I watched his retreating back, my eyes clear and determined.
  • After leaving the bedroom, Alpha Mike called Pack doctor.
  • “Bring over some mifepristone pills.”
  • Soon enough, a servant brought the pills to me—an entire bottle.
  • That night, the entire house was eerily quiet.
  • When I stepped out for some air, I saw Alpha Mike in Lina’s room, gently comforting her fragile emotions.
  • “Lina, your life… it wasn’t easy to save. You need to cherish it now. No more stupid things, okay?”
  • Lina clutched his hand. She still looked pale from her illness, but with the man she loved beside her, she glowed with happiness.
  • “Mike~ you know how much I love you… I can’t live without you. So you can’t leave me…”
  • “Okay. I’ll stay with you from now on. But you have to get better quickly.”
  • I rolled my eyes quietly and returned to my room, curling up on the bed alone.
  • Staring up at the white ceiling, I felt the emptiness slowly growing inside me.
  • A single tear rolled down my cheek.
  • When the blood finally soaked the entire bedsheet, I closed my eyes and let the tears fall freely.
  • Good.
  • Alpha Mike and I were finally done.
  • No more ties between us.
  • The next day, Alpha Mike had his Beta assistant deliver my luggage, my passport, and a bank card.
  • The assistant hesitated. “Luna, Alpha already booked your ticket. The flight’s at 7 a.m. this morning.”
  • I forced a smile, though my body was too weak to even speak. I looked at him faintly.
  • “He’s not going to come see me off?”
  • “Miss Lina had an emotional breakdown last night. The Alpha didn’t feel comfortable leaving her alone…” The assistant didn’t dare meet my eyes.
  • I wasn’t disappointed. I had expected this all along.
  • After all, no one ever cares for the one who’s crying alone in the corner.
  • “I understand.”
  • The Beta respectfully handed over the bank card.
  • “This is for your living expenses. The Alpha will pick you up in three months. Also, he arranged for a couple to look after you over there. You can contact them after you land…”
  • I didn’t take the card.
  • Instead, I struggled out of bed, put on the old clothes I had brought two years ago, and packed my suitcase.
  • Then I stuffed all the new clothes Alpha Mike had bought me into the assistant’s arms, along with the luggage.
  • Straightening my thin, frail back, I walked out without looking back, completely ignoring his words.
  • “Luna, what are you—?” he called after me, confused, holding the bags I shoved into his hands.
  • I replied flatly, “I don’t need the rest. Throw them away.”
  • He looked stunned and tried to reason with me.
  • “Luna, maybe the clothes aren’t your style—you can shop again after you land. But you must take the bank card. How else are you going to survive over there?”
  • “Luna, please—just take the card.”
  • Because of his persistence, I reluctantly accepted it.
  • He visibly relaxed, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders.
  • He escorted me all the way to the international airport’s security checkpoint.
  • “Luna, this is as far as I can go. Please take good care of yourself over there.”
  • I ignored him completely and walked toward security without a second thought.
  • I knew I looked unsteady, fragile even—but it didn’t matter.
  • All I wanted was to leave this place as fast as possible.
  • Before stepping into the checkpoint, I paused and did something that stunned him—
  • I threw the bank card Alpha Mike gave me straight into the trash bin.
  • I caught the assistant’s stunned expression and gave a cold laugh.
  • I didn’t want the man anymore—why would I want anything from him?
  • Unbothered by the Beta’s anxious gaze, I turned and walked away cheerfully.
  • Back at the villa.
  • Alpha Mike had spent most of the day with Lina and had stepped out for some air when the Beta assistant showed up.
  • The moment Alpha Mike saw the suitcase, his expression froze.
  • “What’s this? Didn’t I tell you to get her on a flight ASAP? Why hasn’t she left?”
  • The Beta quickly shook his head. “Alpha don’t worry. Luna is already on the plane.”
  • Alpha Mike pointed at the suitcase.
  • “Then what’s this?”
  • The assistant answered nervously, “Alpha, these are the things Luna didn’t want.”
  • Alpha Mike felt something like a pinprick in his chest, an indescribable emotion flashing across his heart.
  • “I gave her so much money. I guess she’s ditching the old clothes because she’s planning to buy new ones.”
  • He chuckled mockingly. “She really got used to living in comfort, huh?”
  • But what Beta said next struck him with a dose of harsh reality:
  • “Alpha… Luna threw your card into the trash right before she went through security.”
  • Alpha Mike froze completely, his expression cracking inch by inch.
  • After a long silence, he let out a low, bitter laugh.
  • “So the little stray has a temper now? What, just because I neglected her a little? Fine. When she’s done being mad, I’ll go bring her back.”
  • “She’s just throwing a tantrum—who gave her the guts? Spoiled little thing.”
  • Just then, Gamma the butler stepped out, unable to keep silent any longer.
  • “Alpha, Luna’s body hasn’t recovered yet. Sending her away now… aren’t you afraid she’ll hate you for it?”
  • Though Gamma was Alpha Mike’s personal butler, he had always been kind to me.
  • He often helped me and asked me to be patient with Alpha Mike, saying that sometimes he was blinded by dark forces, that’s why he treated me the way he did.
