Chapter 3

  • Jessica's POV
  • Zander pinned me down and tore frantically at my clothes. I struggled desperately.
  • But my strength was no match for Zander's. Besides, he was agitated at that moment.
  • Looking into his cold and fierce eyes, my struggling movements stopped.
  • A moment later, a sharp pain came from my lower abdomen.
  • He entered me without any foreplay.
  • "Boring," Zander said as he got up from bed.
  • I lay motionless, staring at the ceiling in disbelief.
  • Zander stared at me for a moment, then turned and left. Then I heard the sound of a shower.
  • I could feel my love for Zander leaving my body with every breath I took.
  • I just lay there, my mental and physical exhaustion putting me to sleep.
  • The next day.
  • I opened my eyes and noticed that I was covered with a blanket. I was the only one in the bedroom.
  • I sat up and forced my aching body to take a shower.
  • Warm water flowed over my body, warming it. But my heart was cold.
  • I pulled out my makeup and gave myself a delicate look.
  • I rummaged through my suitcase and pulled out a dress from the innermost part.
  • It was an exclusive Hermes limited edition, with a bright red and yellow color scheme. The delicate cut accentuated my figure.
  • This wasn't a dress Zander had given me, this was my own.
  • I pulled out my cell phone and dialed a number.
  • The phone rang twice and was answered immediately.
  • "Good morning, Ms. Riddle, at your service."
  • A cold, magnetic man's voice came from the other side of the phone.
  • I picked up the phone and looked at myself in the mirror. I smiled faintly.
  • "Lucas, bring someone to the lake house in twenty minutes to help me pack," I said.
  • Twenty minutes later, Lucas showed up at the door with five men in black suits.
  • I smiled slightly and pointed in the direction of the bedroom, "Pack everything in this villa that belongs to me. Remember, everything."
  • "Yes, Ms. Riddle." The crowd replied in unison.
  • Then they began to go in and out of each room, wearing white gloves.
  • I sat on the couch and watched them quietly.
  • I lowered my head to look at the diamond ring on my ring finger and smiled before removing it.
  • My last name wasn't Wyatt, actually. My real father was Justin Riddle. He was the head of one of the three largest Mafia groups.
  • Many years ago, my father led the transformation of the entire Mafia group into a legitimate company. To avoid retaliation from his enemies, he entrusted me to his former underling, Johnny Wyatt.
  • Johnny took care of me by marrying a woman who lived alone with her son.
  • But he had no children of his own.
  • My father's company was going well.
  • By the time he wanted to pick me up, I knew Zander.
  • So I refused my father's arrangement.
  • I wanted to be with Zander.
  • I continued to live as Johnny's daughter until now.
  • I thought I was happy, but I was 100% wrong.
  • "Ms. Riddle, we packed everything up," Lucas said as he walked up to me and leaned over.
  • I stood up and nodded at him and said, "Let's go."
  • With that, I left the home I had lived in for five years, without looking back.
  • As I walked out of the mansion, a black Rolls Royce pulled up in front of me.
  • The phone rang as soon as I got in.
  • "You finally figured it out?" My father's pleasant voice came from the other end.
  • I said calmly, "Yes, I've decided to get a divorce."
  • "Oh, that surprised me. What's your plan?"
  • "I think the Riddle Group needs to get ready for a female leader," I said confidently.
  • Justin smiled, "Indeed my daughter. But first, you need to pass a test. One of our branches is bidding on a project. Originally, a deal was struck. But they suddenly defaulted on the contract. We knew that they wanted to give the project to another company. So I need you to get this project back.
  • When I hung up, I said to Lucas, "Send me the information about Company A. Then make an appointment to meet with him, ASAP".
  • Having said that, I opened my laptop and heard Lucas start the call.
  • I checked the contract and the information thoroughly.
  • A short time later, the car pulled up in front of a cafe.
  • Lucas opened the car door for me, "The head of Company A is named Tommy and he just finished talking to other clients. He can give us twenty minutes."
  • "That's enough." I smiled and got out of the car.
  • Lucas opened the door. I stepped inside.
  • "Tommy, I'm the Program Manager at Alpha, my name is Jessica," I said with a smile as I held out my hand and looked at Tommy.
  • Tommy sat down on the couch. He didn't want to shake my hand at all.
  • He said impatiently, "What's the matter? Hurry up, I'm busy."
  • "About our cooperation ......"
  • "We didn't sign any contract. We can find any company we want to cooperate with, don't bother me anymore." Tommy interrupted me impatiently.
  • "But we've already agreed to cooperate before. I wonder what's the reason?" I didn't get angry and asked calmly.
  • "As you said, we just AGREED, not signed a contract. We have the right to choose a better company. This kind of cooperation is all two-way, do you want to force us to agree?" Tommy said and tried to leave.
  • I opened my purse and pulled out a pistol, carefully placing it on the table.
  • "What, what are you doing?!" Tommy was so scared that he immediately took two steps back.
  • "Are you scared? This is Los Angeles. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything." I leaned back in my chair, looked at Tommy, and continued, "Of course, I know that working with the company is a two-way street. I just wanted to continue our cooperation. I think you'd do the right thing for your mother, your 8-year-old son, and your 12-year-old daughter, wouldn't you?"
  • I look at the horrified Tommy and smile.
