• "I'd love to introduce you to someone," Christian whispered into Layla's ear, his lips brushing against her skin. He led her to the table where Robert, his adopted father, sat. Robert had been observant from the moment they entered, a warm smile gracing his face as he contemplated the stunning woman beside Christian.
• "Layla, meet my adopted father," Christian introduced. Layla extended a warm greeting, and Robert's warm eyes regarded her fondly. "We've met before at the gala. You're such a lovely lady," Robert recalled with a warm smile.
