• I watched Scarlet pace back and forth, her hands clenched into fists at her sides. She was furious—more than I had seen her in a long time.
• “How could you?” she yelled, turning to face me with fire in her eyes. “How could you humiliate me like that? You made me look like a liar in front of my parents!
