Chapter 34 Despicable Guy

• “You've only read a few pages and you're starting to drift off” Charlie said as he beckoned to Kathy to come over and hold her on his lap. “Aren't you tired?”
• “Em” Kathy nodded and said, for whatever reason she really couldn't read those books right now.
• “Then sit here with me, and when I'm done with this part, we'll go rest okay?” Charlie asked softly, his voice so gentle it could drip water. It made Kathy's heart flutter and she hugged Charlie, she suddenly felt mean, really mean. A few minutes ago she had Moses on her mind, but now she was nestled in Charlie's arms drawing warmth, coveting this warmth that Charlie brought to her.
