• Nivaan’s POV
• Everyone cast weird looks at me as I walked through to the basecamp. Their eyes held something between shock and fear. Anyway, I didn’t have time to dwell on it. So, I shrugged it off and continued walking. Every once in a while, my eyes darted to Emilia’s face; just a strange urge to make sure that she was with me.
• After walking for what seemed like a million miles, I finally reached the basecamp. My entire body ached as if it was being beaten from the inside but I didn’t dare to stop. Motioning to the guard at the entrance, I commanded, “Tell Kiara to call the healer quickly.”
