Chapter 6

  • Emilia’s POV
  • "Will you please stop? My head is aching just by looking at you," Jenna said, massaging her head.
  • I had been pacing like a wounded animal right from the time I reached my bedroom. I didn’t care that a party was going on in full swing; not that someone was waiting desperately for me. I threw my hands up in annoyance and continued wearing the carpet. Seething with anger was always better than wallowing in self-pity.
  • "Please Emilia, please calm down. This is not going to help you," Jenna tried again; this time her voice sounded.
  • Her voice added fuel to my rage. I clenched my teeth and snapped, "That b*****d! What the hell does he think of himself. He gave me this bloody card telling me to call him when I am ready to reject him." Crumpling the card in my hand, I fumed, "You should have heard him. His tone was as if he was doing me a great favor!"
  • I was about to throw the card in the dustbin but stopped abruptly. An idea formed in my mind as I opened up the crumpled piece of paper and ironed it with my palms.
  • "Call Michael," I said to Jenna, keeping my gaze fixed on the card. It was time to teach that moron a lesson.
  • Jenna’s face turned ashen when she heard that name. She got to her feet and asked in a fearful voice, "What are you planning, girl?"
  • Michael was one of those people one usually stayed away from. He was the leader of a rogue gang of werewolves. They called themselves the Reliquishers. Even the powerful Alphas liked to keep their distance from this unruly group. So, it was natural for Jenna to be scared.
  • However, he was on good terms with me. In fact, I had even helped him a few times. I shrugged my shoulders, "Just make the call, girl.”
  • Jenna fished out my phone from my bag and opened the contact card that said 'Devil.' Her face was so pale that I almost burst out laughing.
  • Taking the phone from her, I plopped onto the soft mattress and dialed the number; shifting to a more comfortable position as the call connected.
  • "Hello, Devil, Wassup??"
  • "Soul hunting as usual... what about you princess?"
  • The mattress caved several inches as I rolled over it, "I want to beat up a man.
  • There was a shrill whistling sound on the other end before the man's hoarse voice sounded, "Seems like someone has pissed the princess...."
  • "Don't get me talking about it Devil. I might just get in through the phone and punch you."
  • "That bad, huh? What level of torture do you want me to serve him, fractures, concussions, coma? Just give me the details and my boys will get on it."
  • My eyes widened slightly as I gave it some thought. I didn’t like the idea of him getting too hurt. I just wanted to teach him a lesson. "I guess breaking his jaw would suffice. As for the details, I don't have much to go on." My eyes darted to the card lying in front of her as she continued, "His name is Nivaan.... and I have his phone number. Will that do?"
  • "Text me his number, Rex will track that moron using GPS."
  • "Cool, I want the pictures tonight," I replied in a cold voice before disconnecting the call.
  • I let out a satisfied sigh and started toying with the phone in my hand. That should teach that petty obnoxious man a lesson.
  • Jenna drew closer to me. The color had drained from her face and she was fidgeting with the keychain in her hand. Clearing her throat, she tried to say as diplomatically as possible, "I don't think it is a good idea to take help from Michael. His reputation is pretty terrible...."
  • I smacked her hand, "Hey! Don't spoil my mood, Jenna. Finally, that b******d is going to pay for insulting me." Waving my hands animatedly, I added, "Don't worry about Devil. He knows where to draw his line. I am the Alpha's daughter. He won't dare to mess with me."
  • We chatted for some time but Jenna drifted off after a while. She was already tipsy with too much drinking. I on the other hand couldn’t sleep a wink. I kept checking my phone every few minutes.
  • When the clock struck midnight, I lost her patience. I gritted her teeth and sent a text, 'What the hell are you doing, D? Where are my pictures?'
  • My phone dinged with a reply moments later, 'Sorry for the delay, Princess. The security of his phone was very tough to crack. That beggar seems to have stolen a high-end phone. Rex is working on it. She will have the coordinates soon.'
  • My eyebrows furrowed. Nivaan was cheeky, arrogant, blind but he didn't seem like a man who would steal. Anyway, what did I care?
  • I would just be happy to see them beat the crap out of him. Her eyes twinkled as another thought formed in my mind. What if I could see him getting beaten right in front of my eyes? What if I could show him how useless he was and then reject him in front of everyone?
  • My lips lifted into a sneer as I texted, "Send me the location too."
  • I tried to wake Jenna but she had completely passed out So, when I received the address, I decided to go alone. She threw a jacket over her shoulders. Then, grabbed my purse, heels, and keys before opening the door quietly.
  • My heart jumped to her mouth when the door creaked in protest. Thankfully no one came to investigate. The mansion was pitch dark. The guests had left and everyone had probably slept.
  • I tiptoed down the staircase and opened pressed the button to open the door. It was one of those doors that didn’t make noise when opened. Now, all I had to worry about was the security guard.
  • I did a fist pump and almost squealed when I saw him snoring in his cabin. He was probably too exhausted. When I was passing him, her eyes fell on the bunch of keys lying in front of him.
  • My lips quirked up as I picked them up quietly and walked out of the gate. It was the key to the car used by servants which remained parked outside the gate.
  • I hummed a light tune as I got into the car and sped away; the thrill of adventure tickling my bones. Today was going to be the best day of my life….
