Chapter 262 Squirming

• The fight between Martinez and Queen had been ferocious from the start and everyone presently watching was forced into cover. John had taken Hanna into cover behind the legs of the Mover Mech, hoping not to get caught up in the fray. Taking cover along with them were Sadie, Rickshaw, Hemlock, and Bone Flayer who were looking quite eagerly at the fight taking place.
• The Mover Mech, being to one side of the road, was in the best spot to view the fight taking place while remaining safe from becoming potential collateral. Though the intermittently thickening smoke was making portions of the fight hard to keep track of. The worries of the fire too was making it difficult for the already tired and stressed townsfolk to properly take cover, for the fire was already at their back.
• Opposite of them, on the other side of the street from where the Mech stood in the electric car lot, were the Mad Dog’s lieutenants. Xander, Jackson, Hugo, Ernest, Tio, and Seth, a lesser known lieutenant who oversaw those guarding the entrances to town and the borders of the Mad Dog territory, had taken refuge behind a waist high red brick wall outlining the store that had been bombed to bits long ago.
