Chapter 244 Bucket Brigade

  • Lisa and Alan hurried out from the creepy cafeteria and entered the circular hallway that connected all the firetruck garages. From what Lisa could tell this dimly lit hallway seemed to loop around the full length of the building. Standing nervously nearby in this hallway was John. As soon as John spotted them coming out to him, an obvious look of relief washed over his face.
  • “This place gives me the creeps.” John remarked speaking almost in a whisper. Then pulling down his mask some, he continued. “I know there were monsters here just moments ago and there is a raging fire outside, but the area is still too quiet. Normally you’d here a dog barking in the distance, sounds of commerce taking place, or someone banging on something nearby. This silence is just so unsettling.”
  • “Good to see your observation skills are still on alert, John. Though what I find unsettling is the mashed-up bodies in there.” Lisa replied pointing a thumb over her shoulder. “I really don’t want the others to see that mess, or you either. Yet since you were a former police officer and all, I’ll need you to cover up the mess and keep the others away from that side of the room. There’s a closet that might have more boxes of these solar water pumps.” Lisa pointed at the box in Alans hands. “In the meantime, let’s go see that firetruck. If we can get in running it will be a huge help in putting out the flames.”
