• The drive back to the Ellison mansion was a quiet one. I tried to make up a few excuses in my head to tell Victor once we reached but every story I could come up with sounded ridiculous. I felt rage and anxiety trying to look for ways to save my skin. Judging by the way he was driving, I just wanted to die or sleep and never wake up. Victor was a grumpy man, he was good at hiding his emotions even when he was angry it was impossible to know what he felt and because of that I didn't know if he was angry or not

The living room felt heavy with Victor sitting in his chair like a boss while Kyan was kneeling before him but at a distance looking like a soaked cat. He looked ridiculous that I just wanted to look at him for the rest of his life.. Monica was acting as Kyan's lawyer and busy defending him against Victor's wrath.
