Chapter 486 Billionaire's Lies
- Clarisse sat in her office desk, her fingers running absently along the edges of her pen. The background noise was far away from her, the whir of the air conditioning growing milder as her mind went back into the discussion she had with Eliana and then with Margo. Her own heart had been in conflict for weeks, and now that she'd finally acknowledged to herself that she have feelings for Saben now and too late for her to relaize her next step was pressuring her like a thousand-pound weight.
- She couldn't get out of her head the manner in which Saben had gazed at Jenny White the previous night, the way she had sensed that something had changed in the air between them. Jenny was not like any woman Clarisse could determine. She was powerful, elegant, and unlike the women Saben had gone out with in the past. It wasn't jealousy that Clarisse experienced. No, it was something more profound, something primal.
- For as long as she could remember, she'd suppressed her emotions for Saben, hidden them under mounds of work, drive, and distractions. But the harder she tried to put it out of her mind, the more her heart acted against her. Each look at Saben's social media, each word spoken about him, only served to make one thing more obvious: she still loved him. And Jenny was standing in its way.
