Chapter 28 Billionaire's Lies
- As she approached the door, she hesitated with a hand suspended just above the doorknob. And then she heard him Benedict's voice, warm and teasing and full of an affection she hadn't heard in months. Her heart plunged; her stomach twisted and tied itself into knots; she was hardly breathing as she pushed open the door.
- There, in the dim light of their bedroom, was Benedict. Only half-dressed, his arms were locked around a woman whose back was to Sabrina. They were locked in a kiss, intimate and shameless. Benedict's hand traced down the woman's bare back, fingers grazing her skin as they used to make Sabrina's own heart race.
- She gasped, the whisper of a sound barely escaping her lips, but it was enough to tear them apart. Benedict's eyes wide, he took in the sight of her. A flicker of something crossed his face: surprise, irritation, guilt; and just as quickly, it seemed, he had supplanted it with the chilling detachment of one watching an inconvenience unfold rather than the destruction of his wife.
