- The corner of Carmen’s mouth lifted ever so slightly, revealing a subtle but genuine smile. She couldn’t help but acknowledge that the Ronin before her was an entirely different person from the one she had known for so long.
- The old Ronin never engaged in conversation with her, and even if he did—or was coerced into it—he wouldn’t do so without a fair amount of snapping and growling. She had to agree that this Ronin was much easier to talk to, far less cold and arrogant.
