• I had two options, to reach out to Riley or not and as easy as it sounded, the decision was a chokehold. This mess was mine. She didn’t deserve to be pulled into it because we got involved. I needed to find whoever was blackmailing me and crush him—or her—before things spiraled completely out of control.
• I stared at the folder resting on the seat beside me. My skin crawled. Getting Grandpa involved would make this bloody. Too bloody. That’s exactly how I ended up in this situation in the first place.
