Chapter 20 Open Secret

• RILEY'S POV
• The sun peeped through the windows, I looked at the time. I was already very late but I couldn't drag my body up from bed. My mouth felt sour and the heaviness in my stomach made me sit up. It wasn't the first morning I was feeling this way but today, it lingered longer. I placed my hand on my lower abdomen trying to calm down the turmoil.
• I still had to drop by the hospital before getting to the office. I swallowed, dreading going to the office feeling this way. It wasn't that I didn't like my job, I loved working at Carlton companies but there was seeing Carl. I'd have to go see him everyday knowing that I was holding back a part of me, there's also the fact that our relationship was secretive at work, hence a lot of snooping around.
