Lady Ann rushed into Pearl’s room after hearing the baby’s piercing cries. Seeing the panic in both Pearl’s and King Archer’s eyes, she hurried forward and gently took the baby from Pearl. Noticing the sudden change in the little girl’s color, her heart clenched. The baby’s cries grew louder by the second, and she understood the pain the newborn was enduring.
“Lady Ann… you’ve cared for babies before. Please, tell me what’s happening so we can help her immediately. I can’t watch my few-hours-old baby cry like an adult!” Pearl pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
“Pearl, she’ll be fine once the doctor arrives. She has a heart problem, but don’t panic—she will be okay,” Ann assured, caressing the baby warmly.
