Chapter 13

• Pearl woke up the following morning with a pounding headache that made her eyes burn. Her thoughts immediately drifted back to what Sage had told her the previous night about the King being angry with her, and her heart jumped in fear.
• Morning had arrived, and soon she would be summoned to face the King. Only God knew what he had planned for her.
• She swung her legs out of bed and walked toward the window, pulling the blinds open. She stared out at the Guham Kingdom where she had grown up. She would never walk freely again.
