Chapter 3

  • A shiver went down my spine when I heard it. I quickly averted my gaze as I felt a blush rose to my cheeks. I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and focused on my work as all of them left.
  • After he left, I put my hand over my chest and let out a deep breath. How dare he do that. I clicked my tongue in the direction where they left and focused on my work, not wanting to think about it.
  • After work, I got out wanting to go to my work but it was raining heavily outside. My jaw dropped upon seeing it, not knowing what I should do to get out of this, the bus stop is far away and it’s not good to drench in rain because of my white shirt. I don’t know what I should do.
  • I stood outside the library for a good two hours, sitting on the stairs, waiting for the rain to finish. As I was sitting I saw that guy coming out. He was leaving but he saw me and to boil my blood he stopped and turned to me giving me a look filled with amusement.
  • “I thought a beggar was sitting here.” He taunts, taking a step towards me. I smiled venomously at him and retorted, “No need to see yourself in me.” He laughed a little and said, “The rain’s not gonna stop for the next few hours.”
  • “So?” I asked rudely. He takes a look at me, taking a hint why I am not going in the rain because if I get drenched, it will be all revealing.
  • “Stay here and enjoy.” He scorned. I grit my teeth and turned my head away. He turned to leave but then the Owner’s voice came from behind.
  • “Ah Ms Whale.” I turned to look at him and smiled. “Yes?”
  • “Come I will drop you off. How long are you going to wait?” He offered. I stood up and looked at Mr Moretti victoriously, “Sure.” I said sweetly and went with him but before leaving I couldn’t help but to notice that smile that appeared on his lips but I shrugged it off as nothing.
  • It was Sunday, me and Rufus came to the mall to buy Rufus some office shirts. After buying some shirts for him and some clothes for myself, we went to the food court to have something. I told Rufus to stay there while I get something to eat. I went get some ice-cream for us but I got a phone call from Father, probably wanting to yell at me.
  • “Hello Father?” I picked the call.
  • ”Where the hell are you and Rufus?” His voice sounded angry. I opened my mouth to reply but I heard another voice.
  • “...Make him spill out. With or without force. I-” I looked up but it was too late the drink he had with him spill over my dress. I gasped and saw none other than the charm of bad luck in front me looking at me with a bored look.
  • “What the hell what that? Are you blind or what?” I yelled at him.
  • “Or what.” He replied. This guy is ridiculous. “You wasted my drink.” He said. he was disappointed. My mouth gasped, “You spilled it over me.” I said angrily.
  • “It’s your fault to follow me around.” He said nonchalantly.
  • “You are the one who comes after me and causes nothing but damage to me. You are a bad luck charm!” I sneered at him. “Like you are a fairy.” He muttered.
  • “Better than you!” I replied. He looked at me irritated and said to one of his men, “Get her a dress and a drink.” He was about to walk away but I said, “An apology would be nice, Mr Moretti.” He stopped in his tracks and turned to me, “Why would I apologize to you?” He asked, amused.
  • “For spilling the drink.” I said closing my arms at my chest. He hummed and left. I looked at him in disbelief, swearing at him in my mind. He is the worst. I grit my teeth, didn’t get the dress he offered and went back home with my day ruined by none other than this Mr Moretti.
  • The day was tiresome. I left my work just to help Christian out. I sighed deeply and thought about paying a visit to Christian and his Wife Sophie at the hospital before going to work. He was so worried about her. I smiled sadly, wishing to have someone in my life too who will love me but seems like it’s chances are far away . The person I love always leaves me or betrays me, I felt bad for not having a reason in my life to live. And my redemption is still far away because of Kathrine who thinks she gives the best advice, I got help from her because she is a girl, the person I trust but my patience is breaking apart and I can feel this barely controllable emotion taking over my senses.
  • I took a deep breath and bought a bouquet of flowers and some chocolates for Sophie and went to meet them.
  • I knocked and entered their room. I smiled and gave the flowers to Christian and asked Sophie, “Well, How’s my sister-in-law?” I know it’s not a good idea to ask her this question. She remained silent and didn’t reply and I felt bad asking her this.
  • To lightened up the mood, I began to say, “Recover quickly, then we’re gonna have a party to celebrate your-” Christian cut me off,
  • “Stop it Tyler, It’s not a time for a party.” He said glaring at me because I was about to say he loves Sophie- what he didn’t accept. I smirked at him and replied, “That's what I said after recovery.” I then turned to Sophie and began to say,
  • “You know, he just kept on talking about you.” As much of a angry and serious person I love teasing Christian, he is my best friend. Christian flushed hearing this and I continued, “I love to have her in my arms. I love the taste of her delicate lips. I lo-”
  • “Can’t you shut up Damn it!” Christian said raising his voice and I laughed seeing him like this.
  • “Why? Didn’t you-” I was about to say something more but the door knocked again and the person I wasn’t expecting to see entered. I didn’t know that she knew about Sophie’s condition, not actually Last time Sophie was with her but still why is Candice here… and here we go.
