• Gia had looked in their room, checked the cafeteria and even the incursion team office, and now stood in the entrance trying to think where else to look for her mate.
• She needed to tell him what Amari had just told her. She didn’t know how she found out, but it was huge. Turning, she decided she would check in the armory area—if she could remember exactly where that was. She was so excited about this place. It felt like serious things were happening now and she couldn’t wait. Before she picked a direction, the outer door opened, and in walked Deacon. He had those frown lines again, and she wondered what he was overthinking this time.
