Chapter 16

  • Asher stared at the building for a minute and then went in the other direction. What was he supposed to say to the prince of the Alliance, the head of security, and Calum? He scowled at the snow-covered ground as he went, Calum, to him, deserved as much respect as the other two. He’d done a lot for so many, Asher included. He’d been a bit out of control when he first started shifting, it had been Calum that had gotten through to him that he was going in the wrong direction with life.
  • He glanced through the fence to see the same rogue watching him. He didn’t want to be observed right this minute. If he was going to have some kind of breakdown, he wanted it to be private.
  • His cat was trying to get his attention. In the wrong way, of course, but pausing Asher’s steps as he went. He probably looked like a toy running out of battery power to the rogue watching him. Gritting his teeth, he forced his cat to behave, even if just for a few more minutes. There had to be somewhere private he could stand for a few minutes. Just long enough to wrap his head around this and get himself back on track.
