Chapter 24

• Evelyn's POV
• My mind goes back to how I'd trusted Dorlin with my whole heart and what she ended up doing to me, there's no one that seemed more trustworthy than her. Since then, I've begun to learn my lessons. I can't trust anybody more than how I should. I can only speak with someone about issues that connect both of us and not more than that. The era of sharing private details about myself is gone. Will I ever have them again?
• I heave a sigh of relief looking up to Linda and sideways to Caleb. I smile at him. "Did you set her up to question me?"
