Chapter 6

  • Eira;
  • Anger and frustration didn't seize to course through my veins as I stayed in here for days. The order the beast had given to me was impossible. I can’t reject my fated mate. It was like a taboo for a lady to reject her fated in our pack without concrete reasons.
  • There were punishments involved for any lady who dared to. Whatever male the Goddess had bestowed upon you, was definitely who you must be with, or you would be banished. The only way you could escape this was if your fated mate also wanted this or you were ready to denounce your pack.
  • The beast clearly knew this truth because he was the Alpha, but yet he didn't care about what would befall me. (scoff in disbelief)…. What was I even expecting from an animal?
  • Don’t get me wrong, I had no intention of settling with my supposed fated mate either, even if I had met him outside of this mansion. The fact he was related to the Royal family was the red flag for me. But I knew there would have been a better way for me to reject him.
  • I would have run away from the pack with Caleb and my family. Probably settle in a new pack. Well, that wasn't the case right now. If I dare reject my fated mate without a unquie plan on how to run away, then I would be doomed. And I know it would gladen the heart of the best.
  • I pushed myself up from the bed and sat upright on it. “Elisa, what should we do about the order from the beast?” I reached out to my new best friend - my wolf.
  • “His the Alpha of our pack and not a beast,” she responded and I rolled my eyes.
  • “Our mate is also an Alpha, and a powerful man. There is no way we can reject him. I believe he’s powerful enough to get us out of here.”
  • “But you can’t go against the Alpha,” she responded and my eyes widened.
  • “Whose side are you on, Elisa?”
  • “The side of truth. I’m a kind wolf and I do what is right. If you needed freedom, you shouldn't have signed the deal with Alpha Leonardo. You have to play your part and let him play his,” she informed and my nose scrunched in anger.
  • What type of wolf was she? What she-wolf picks a contract over her fated mate. Wolves don’t joke with their fated mates - that I was sure of.
  • But she….
  • Wait…. I hope the Goddess didn't give me an incompetent wolf. Gosh!!! Why was I so unlucky with a lot of things?
  • “Don’t forget I can hear your inner thoughts, Eira,” she uttered and I puffed in frustration.
  • Forcing a smile on my face, “I’m glad you can hear my thoughts. So from this day henceforth, I don’t need to inform you before carrying out my decision. And you dare not interfere with it.” I stood up from the bed.
  • “You are young and insensitive, Eira.”
  • “Shut up,” I pushed her to the back of my head.
  • Staying back in here and avoiding speaking to the beast wasn't doing me any good. The best was for me to act smart and play my game better. This beast wanted me to reject my fated mate just because of a stupid contract. Well, I would play the game better with him.
  • Fighting him wouldn’t help me escape this either. The Goddess knew what she was doing when she made his brother my fated Mate. With the position I found them both in the courtroom, I could tell they were enemies.
  • This was great.
  • Or should I say ‘perfect?’
  • I would use his brother against him and trick the beast into finally granting me freedom.
  • With my thoughts still flooding my head, I rushed into the bathroom, and had my bath. When I was done, I threw the blue jean, white strapless top and the pair of sneakers the beast had arranged for me, on my body.
  • I made my way out of the room in search of him. A servant directed me to the office of the beast and when I arrived, my eyes found him. But he wasn't alone. There was a Beta wolf, whom I trusted was the beast’s Beta and a beautiful lady with the beast.
  • They seemed to be in a beautiful conversation but the beast held a confused expression on his face, gazing at the lady.
  • I cleared my throat as I headed closer to them. Bowing my head, something I hated to do. “Greetings, Al…” I swallowed hard. “Alpha Leonardo,” I pronounced the worst name with rolled eyes. “I would like to have a word with you, but only…”
  • “Who is this Omega, Alpha Leo?” I heard the voice of the lady.
  • “My servant…”
  • “Servant?” My head raised and I scoffed in anger. Did he just call me his servant? This beast was unbelievable.
  • “You got yourself a new servant? Why is she not in uniform, and why?” The lady ambled towards me. She cupped my cheeks and tilted my head a little, getting a better view of the beast mark on me. “Why does she carry your mark, Alpha Leo.”
  • “That isn’t my mark,” the beast lied, and I mockery giggled. “That’s the mark of Vorgathy. Don’t worry about it, Freya. The mark meant nothing, and the servant is not important,” the beast responded, causing my fingers to curl into a fist.
  • The urge to break his stupid nose consumed me whole.
  • He stormed towards me, his fingers belted my wrist as he tugged me behind him, leading us back to his bedroom. He shoved me inside and closed the door behind us.
  • My head bent a little as my eyes studied my face. The beast had a little fear lingering in his eyes. I could tell it was because of what happened out there. Interesting. Who was that lady to him, and why was he trying to protect her from finding out what happened between us?
  • Funny!!
  • Finding out who she was won’t be easy from my own end but I will. It seemed I could also use her against him. She would play an important role in this game of ours.
  • “Why did you step out without my permission?” He rudely asked.
  • “You never asked me not to. The last I recalled was you ordering me to go reject my fated mate. I came to inform you that I’m ready to carry out your order. So where do I find my fated mate?”
  • “Fated Mate?… Rubbish,” I heard him softly mocked, and my lips pressed in a thin line in frustration.
  • Well, it was him - the arrogant animal. What reaction did I expect of him?
  • “Where can I find him?” I tore my face away from the beast. Staring at his face and seeing the mocking smile that plastered on it made my stomach roiled with nausea. So to avoid throwing up, I had to look away. The beast was the worst thing I had dealt with in my life, and I couldn't wait for the day I would finally break free from him.
  • “I’m surprised this little brain of yours now functions. There is a Pack Submit happening in two days’ time. My brother will be there, make sure to reject him.”
  • Pack Submit? I will be attending a pack submit for the first time in my life. Pack Submits were basically for the corrupt elites - the Alphas, Betas, and Gammas.
  • I had no idea about the things being done there, but there had been whispers of crazy lies about the submit. Whatever, that wasn’t the bone of contention. My focus should be on speaking to my fated Mate and joining hands with him to destroy this beast.
  • I was glad it would be happening in two days’ time.
  • Still in my thoughts when I felt the beast pull me by my arms. He stepped closer, towering over me. His eyes darted back and forth on my face as he leaned in.
  • My heart ran to my throat in fear.
  • “You…” He softly uttered, his eyes fixed solely on me.
