• “I don’t understand why you need to be at the hospital with her,” I said, trying not to sound annoyed as Sebastian was leaving for the day.
• “I can’t let her go through something like this alone,” Sebastian said, keeping his tone even and his eyes away from me. I couldn’t help but feel like there was something he wasn’t telling me; a knot was forming in my throat, and I swallowed it down into my stomach.
