• When Arnold told Sebastian that Hannah was pregnant, he knew he had to rush to the hospital. He couldn’t believe that Hannah would keep something that important from him. It made him wonder whom she had told and why she would keep it from her husband. It always made him think maybe it was because the baby wasn’t his. It wasn’t something he enjoyed thinking about, but he couldn’t help it. The thought surfaced in his mind, and he couldn’t shake it.
• He stared down at Hannah, who remained in the hospital bed. She was pale, and for someone pregnant, she seemed thin. She looked much sicker than he remembered from earlier. Her body was trembling, and tears were drowning her eyes.
