Chapter 84

Aurora
The whole house is buzzing with stupid energy while we are waiting for Lux to arrive. Dad’s been pacing the living room for the past hour, checking his watch every five minutes like it might tell him a different time. Mom’s been stress-baking since our conversation this morning, and the house smells like chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. It’s almost sickening how eager everyone is to see my adoptive brother.
I, on the other hand, am trying my best to look unaffected. I’ve changed outfits three times, though, settling on ripped jeans and a cute crop top that shows off my toned stomach. Not that I’m trying to impress Lux or anything. I just want to look good in case Zephyr and Jia take pictures.
