Chapter 125 Just Give In To Me
- “Your baby is... safe,” Ralph answered in a struggling voice, as if saying the word “baby” felt like a blade slitting his throat. I shifted my position to look him in the eyes and all I could see was misery and regret. His eyes were red, as if he were on the verge of crying, and I could hear his heart thumping loudly against his chest. His breath was ragged as he forced his voice not to break while speaking, “He seems strong like his mother.”
- “Strong—like his or her father,” I retorted back to him with a steely look, and his brows angled as if he was hurt by the expression on my face.
- Even in the room's darkness, I could see the anger in Ralph’s eyes. My body trembled in fear, but I still managed to glare back at him, pretending that I wasn't afraid no matter what he did to me. I pulled the blanket against me, steadying myself, and worried he might hurt me after he found out that I was pregnant with his enemy’s pup.
