• I didn’t realize I’d fallen asleep until I felt the slow, steady rise and fall of Damon’s chest under my cheek. Until I felt him gently drawing random patterns on my shoulder as he hummed a soft tune under his breath.
• We were lying on the couch in my office, the air still thick with the heat of what just happened. My blouse was draped half across his arm, his shirt tossed over the edge of the desk, my legs tangled with his under the blanket he’d pulled over us from the chair nearby.
