Chapter 9
- Georgina's POV
- "Hope you slept well ma'am" Mr. Deolf greeted. "Yes, thank you". I replied and walked over to the car.
- "Deolf, where are you going"? I looked over and saw a young brunette attractive lady, Alpha Christian's wife. I avoided her glance and entered the car. I felt embarrassed. I can't look her right in the eye after being caught. Deolf rushed over to her and they talked about some things. Seems like they were arguing, she stomped off angrily and went inside. Deolf rushed over and started the car driving out of the palace down the street.
- I was forced to ask what they were discussing but I restricted myself. Asking him would make me look like a gossiper.
- We arrived at the company and I was taken aback at how large and big it was. We parked the car at a separate garage. Alpha Christian may decide to have a different garage of his own. Deolf took me through a different entry and we took a different elevator. I don't know why it's different from the general ones. Is that how all companies are, especially in Asark? In minutes, I found myself in front of a big glass door "Personal Assistant Georgina" was inscribed on top of the door.
- "Your key ma'am". He said handing the key over to me. "And that office opposite yours is Alpha Christian. He will call you in when he is less busy." I nodded and he excused himself.
- I opened the door and stepped into my gigantic office. I gasped in amazement "Money is amazing." I exclaimed and rushed over to open the other door, it's a bathroom. A bathroom in an office. I scoffed and settled in the office. There were so many files on the table. I glanced through it and realized I have so much work to do. I logged in to the computer and prepared to start when my phone beeped.
- I opened the notification and realized I have been given admission and my school fees have been paid. Oh My God… I exclaimed and checked out my schedule. I have an online class by 6:00. Then, I have to be quick. I dropped my phone excitedly and got to work.
- Minutes later, my telephone rang out and I picked it up without averting my gaze from the screen. "Yes, lady Georgina on the line" I said professionally. "I want you in my office, now". His husky voice boomed, sending shivers down my spine. He ended the call, just like that. I stood up, nervousness set through me. I didn't see him after yesterday's ordeal.
- Few inches to it, the door whirls open before me. It's automatic then why isn't mine automatic. I furrowed my brow in confusion before stepping in. I felt cold instantly and goose bumps covered my whole body. Am I the one cold or the office? I wondered.
- Before me sat Alpha Christian. He raised his head up and looked at me stealthily. I gulped down nervously and looked down at my feet. "Good morning, Your Highness." I greeted. Remembering what happened yesterday gave me cold feet. If I had known I would be this ashamed, would I have accepted? But he gave me what I wanted. I have been granted admission all thanks to him and am his PA even without my certificate. Did I stoop so low?
- He sighed in frustration "I told you the title isn't necessary". He said. With the way he behaved yesterday, there was fury in his eyes while telling me to go out but I think he is much better now. "Please raise your head up and look at me". I gulped down nothing and raised my head up. Our eyes met and I got lost in his blue eyes for some seconds before I regained my composure. He gave me a flirtatious smile "I have a meeting in 45 minutes time. Please prepare for it because we are both going there". I nodded.
- "Is that all sir?"
- "Yes". He hummed and I rushed out of his office.
- I sat down and calmed my nerves down. I have to be bold. Georgina, be bold!
- The black Bugatti drove through the gate with Christian and I sitting at the backseat.
- Immediately the driver pulled to a stop, guards from the cars that followed us behind rushed out and opened the door for me and Christian.
- We came out of the car together and met some men in front of the building who were already waiting for us.
- “Your Highness.” One of the men called and exchanged a handshake with him.
- “We were informed of your coming and are very pleased to have you here with us.
- “Welcome lady.” He turned and said to me,
- "Thanks” I smiled perfunctorily.
- “Please, come in with us” the other man said and Christian and I walked in with them.
- We entered the first floor of the building which was more of a reception and took the elevator which took us up to the third floor.
- What’s the scheduled time for this meeting?” Christian asked as we walked out of the elevator.
- “Oh! That’d be about an hour or so” one of the men replied. Finally, we got to the meeting hall and it seemed to me like we were the last people to attend.
- There was a long table there in the room with chairs arranged round it and the seats were almost occupied.
- But the men we walked in with ushered Christian and I to a seat and that was it, there were no more vacant seats.
- As expected, everybody stared at us as we made entrance.
- A man at the head table was standing and seemed to be making a speech before we entered.
- "Hmm…". He paused and cleared his throat.
- "Let’s make a special welcome to the Representatives of the werewolf Family". He announced and a brief round of applause was made by the people present.
