Chapter 10 Burning Nine Million Dollars
- Gina emptied Carol's teacup.
- Anyone can drink the tea from her Sallow family, but not the Louis family!
- Carol laughed and sneered at Gina!
- St*pid woman!
- You're simply making a fool of yourself!
- Who do you think the Sallow family is?
- Carol lifted a teacup and threw it to the ground!
- "What are you doing?"
- "Ridiculous!"
- "How dare you smash our teacup?"
- "I warn you. I'll call the police!"
- Carol shook off Gina's hand and declared, "I'm not here to beg your Sallow family to reconcile with my family!"
- "I just want to tell you that your daughter is not worthy of my brother at all!"
- "I think Chloe is just an average woman!"
- "I can find five hundred like her on the streets!"
- Gina sneered. "Who doesn't know how to brag?"
- "Aaron, such a loser, should be happy if any woman is willing to marry him!"
- "You are just dreaming if you think you can marry a woman as beautiful as Chloe!"
- Gina crossed her arms, refusing to back down. She wanted to see what else this little b*tch could say.
- Carol clenched her fist, trying to control her emotions. Arguing with a middle-aged woman here really undermined her status as the eldest lady of the Louis family!
- "Then tell me, why can't my brother marry a better woman than your daughter?"
- Carol stared at Gina. Her gaze was as sinister as that of a venomous snake.
- Gina's heart trembled. But as the saying goes, one may fall, but not lose face!
- You can lose anything, but not your momentum!
- Gina raised her chin and said, "Aaron is simply a loser. Who would be interested in him?"
- "Not only is he dirt poor, but he also lacks any skills or knowledge. He's just idling and even became a matrilocal son-in-law!"
- "I don't believe he can find a woman better than Chloe!"
- "But, let me tell you … "
- "Even if Aaron kneels in front of Chloe and begs for reconciliation, I will never agree!"
- "If all your family members kneel in front of me and beg me … "
- "Then, I might consider it."
- Gina's words were decisive.
- Carol clenched her fists. She wanted to slap Gina. Unfortunately, Carol didn't want to because she was afraid of dirtying her hands.
- "Alright, are you just blaming Aaron for being poor?"
- Carol nodded. She came here to teach Gina a lesson and to make Gina realise what an excellent son-in-law she had missed!
- After all, Chloe and Aaron had already divorced. Carol couldn't do anything to Gina!
- But Gina's words completely made Carol angry!
- Gina even expected the entire Louis family to kneel before her.
- Carol wanted to ask her something.
- Do you deserve it?
- Who do you think you are?
- Carol took out her mobile phone and dialled a number.
- "Come in!"
- "Bring in everything I prepared yesterday!"
- Carol put down her mobile phone and stared coldly at Gina. "Although Aaron has already divorced Chloe, our Louis family is wealthy!"
- "There's no need to argue with a shr*w like you!"
- "The proper etiquette must be in place after all."
- "Just take this money as a divorce settlement for Aaron and Chloe."
- "I just hope that after taking this money, the Sallow family won't harass Aaron anymore."
- "Our worlds are different!"
- Carol gritted her teeth and tried hard to suppress her anger.
- Gina crossed her arms. "Divorce settlement?"
- "Do you think Aaron can afford a divorce settlement?"
- "Is it five thousand or eight thousand dollars?"
- "I gave Aaron seventy-five dollars in pocket money every month!"
- "In these three years, that's more than one thousand five hundred dollars. Can the Louis family afford that?"
- Gina crossed her arms and laughed.
- Before she finished speaking, the door was kicked open. Several men in black suits walked in, each holding a box in their arms.
- Carol cleared the things on the table.
- Rows of boxes occupy the table and sofa.
- Carol opened one of the boxes, and stacks of banknotes appeared in front of Gina!
- "To tell you the truth, I originally prepared ten million US dollars as Chloe's divorce settlement."
- "But now, I've changed my mind!"
- Carol opened another box, took out a stack of banknotes, and threw it to the ground.
- Gina looked at the money that fell to the ground. Her eyes widened as she rushed towards the money desperately. She didn't care that she was already kneeling at Carol's feet.
- "Consider these ten thousand dollars as a gift for your Sallow family!"
- Carol sneered at Gina.
- Gina stared at the money without raising her head. "What about the remaining nine million? You must keep your word!"
- "The remaining more than nine million also belong to your Sallow family!"
- After Carol finished speaking, she emptied all the other boxes.
- The living room was filled with banknotes.
- Gina trembled all over. All this money! So much money! She had never seen so much money before!
- Carol stretched out her hand. A well-built man behind her poured a bucket of gasoline on the banknotes in the living room.
- Then, Carol took out a lighter. She lit it up and threw it over.
- The moment the gasoline and the lighter came into contact, a fire broke out.
- The piles of banknotes gradually burned under the fire, then curled up, and finally turned into ashes.
- Gina completely collapsed!
- More than nine million!
- A total of more than nine million US dollars were burned right in front of her!
- "The remaining more than nine million should be treated as my gift to your ancestors!"
- "Take this money as preparation for your afterlife!"
- "So that you two won't be alone and helpless!"
- Carol raised her head. The flames shone on her face. Her gaze was cold.
- Carol didn't want to be so cruel, but Gina deserved it!
- Gina was desperate to retrieve her money. But Gina was stopped by two well-built men before she could take a single step.
- "My money, my money!"
- Gina has gone crazy!
- Originally, all these ten million belonged to her!
- It's all hers!
- But now it was gone.
- Gina sat on the ground in despair.
- Carol watched as the banknotes burned. Then, she asked someone to put out the fire and release Gina.
- "That's all, Gina. Take good care of Chloe!"
- "Next time, I might not only burn these nine million."
- After Carol finished speaking, she left the Sallow family's house!
- Gina crawled towards the pile of ashes.
- Money!
- It was all money.
- Gina didn't even mind the scorching heat emanating from the ashes.
- Gina tried hard to pick out the intact banknotes.
- However, there was nothing left.
- Gina slapped herself. She sat in ashes with dishevelled hair and cried loudly!
- She felt remorseful.
