- The silence in their private study stretched between them like a chasm, heavy with unspoken words and mounting tension. Alpha Aurelius stood by the massive stone fireplace; his broad shoulders rigid as he stared into the dying flames. Luna Lexi paced behind him; her footsteps muffled by the Persian rug that had been a wedding gift twenty-two years ago.
- "You cannot be serious about this, Aurelius," Lexi whispered, her voice barely audible yet carrying the weight of desperation. "Please tell me you're not actually considering meeting with that... that girl."
