Chapter 4 A New Fight
- MAVERICK’s POV
- “You need to drive faster, Gusto,” I said calmly, trying to keep my nerves and voice in check even though I was mad! You would be too if you walked into a trap 4 times in a row. “Amelia, call the pilot and tell him to get the jet ready! We are going back to Mexico”
- “What? Maverick it is getting late. The sun will set soon. We cannot leave today”
- I looked at Amelia’s face then I cupped her cheeks in my hands.
- “We have three options; It is either I end up dead in a ditch or behind bars for a murder I did not commit, or we go back to Mexico today! What will be your pick, Amelia?”
- She looked extremely confused, and her eyes had lots of questions, but she nodded her head and hit the driver's shoulders.
- “Please, drive faster, Gusto”

- ONE MONTH LATER
- (LUNA) LENA’s POV
- “It is time to go, Madam”
- “I will be right there, Marina”
- I stared at myself in the mirror. I inhaled and exhaled heavily.
- “You are Lena Hendricks, and you can do anything you set your mind to do!”
- Well, those were always Mrs. Lena’s words to me, and today I was going to the same female penitentiary where I was locked in to pay a visit to my helper. The one who saved my life and gave me a new beginning.
- When Marina and I got there and saw Mrs Lena we both hugged her tightly. She looked a lot thinner than she was before I left. Tears dropped from my eyes when I recalled all she did for me.
- “Now, a strong woman should never shed tears except when it is important, and right now those tears aren't needed, Lena”
- I leaned in forward and hugged her again, then we both sat down and Marina brought out a file to show Mrs Lena.
- “This is the file you requested, Madam”
- Marina handed the file over to her, but she needed me to read it out loud for her.
- I wasn't sure why.
- “How is your daughter and where is she?”
- Mrs Lena asked with a little smile on her face.
- “In school. I will get her once we are done from here”
- We all chuckled softly. Then I picked up the file and placed it on the little desk in front of us. Mrs. Lena had her influence, so the warden of the penitentiary allowed her to have a private room for visitation.
- I looked at the file and read in silence first, and I was confused because why was Jordan’s name in Mrs. Lena’s Dead husband’s file?
- “I don't understand this, madam. What file is this?”
- “Lena, your ex-husband is not only a fraud, but also a murderer. I told Marina to bring this file along today, so you would see for yourself the type of man your husband was”
- “A whole year of marriage, and I knew nothing about him. How can one person be so wicked? This clearly states that your husband willed all his properties to Jordan, why?”
- “My husband never did any of that. Jordan forged my husband’s signatures, including those documents you have in your hand, and then killed him”
- The documents fell from my hands, and what Mrs Lena said sent a cold shiver down my spine.
- “Why? Why would anyone do that?”
- Mrs Lena pulled me up from my seat, her voice, but she still managed to speak.
- “That is.. That is why I did everything in my power to get you out of here, and even gave you everything I own including my identity. You need to get revenge for me and you”
- My phone rang, and it was an unknown caller.
- Mrs. Lena removed her hands from my shoulders and pointed at my phone.
- I answered and put it on speaker without saying a word.
- “Heyyy. I heard you got out of prison, but you never saw it fit to give me a call, that is not how business partners are supposed to operate, right?”
- Jordan? It is Jordan!
- I mouthed some words to Mrs. Lena’s ears.
- “Hello? Hello? Mrs. Lena. Come on, let the past remain in the past, okay? I own half of your husband’s properties, and I will take time by force with or without your authorization. I sent you to prison once and I can do it again!”
- He ended the call, tears flooded from my eyes, and I fell to the ground.
- Mrs. Lena pulled me up then she angrily punched the wall.
- “You are weak! I don't need a weakling right now! You shed tears at every problem which is bad, Lena! You need to be strong and face whatever comes your way head-on, because a lot of things will come your way”
- We had a few more conversations, and she told me to sign a particular document.
- “What is this, ma'am?”
- “A document which states that you can not at any time betray me, and if you then I can have you arrested. You are weak, Lena, and I keep getting this feeling that you will grow soft if you ever meet again with that bastard, Jordan”
- I stood up from the chair, beat my chest, and promised her I would never go back to that man.
- I signed the documents then Marina and I left for Natalia’s school.
- On our way to the school, I received a call again from the same number Jordan used to call me.
- “It is him again, Marina. What does he want?!”
- Marina collected the phone from me, answered it, and then placed it on speaker.
- “I know this may sound funny, but I have my daughter with me right now, Mrs. Lena”
- “What!?”
- I was forced to scream at the phone.
- “Oh, I see now you can speak, right? See how easy that was, right? Now, listen to me. When you are ready to speak you know where to find me”
- He ended the call, and I told the driver to go faster. When we got to the school I ran faster than Flash to her class, but the teachers confirmed that Natalia had already left with her Nanny, but the problem is Natalia never had a Nanny.
- I ran back to Marina.
- “That bastard has my daughter”
