Chapter 1029 Bro, Thanks
- Jo Elara’s heart pounded hard, and the seconds on her phone crawled by. She had never felt time move this slowly. Fifteen minutes used to pass without her noticing. Now, every second dragged. After dinner, no one left. They sat on the sofa, sipped tea, and waited to see how this would end. Sarah and Adam Parish also stayed, ready to step in for Jo Elara at the crucial moment. Wesley Quinlan kept checking his watch. He even told the servants to lock the front gate of the Walker Residence. The message was clear. He deliberately sat next to Radovan Parish. Radovan, like nothing around him mattered, kept playing a mobile game, totally detached, which made Wesley’s brows knot over and over. Adam Parish glanced at Radovan, then stood and said to him, “Come with me. I have a question.” Radovan froze. His brother had never looked at him this seriously. He immediately logged out of the game, jumped to his feet, and trailed after Adam like a puppy. “Bro, what is it?” The two were about the same height—tall, elegant, and stupidly handsome. Standing together, they made everything else fade into the background. Sarah couldn’t help twitching the corner of her mouth. Do these two have to look this unreal? Adam said coolly, “Come on.” He led the way out of the living room into the garden. The Quinlan family garden wasn’t as big as the Walker Estate Residence’s, but it was refined. It was winter now. Aside from a few evergreens, everything looked bleak. They didn’t go far, stopping at the bottom of the steps. Adam asked Radovan, “You really won’t consider Jo Elara?” Radovan blinked, thoughts spinning a mile a minute. Did his brother want him to marry Jo Elara? Would that help his brother? If that was the case, marrying her wasn’t impossible. She wasn’t his type, but she was cute—and at least she didn’t annoy him. So he blurted, “Bro, you want me to marry her?” Adam shook his head. “Who you marry is your call. I’m just giving you a thought. You know she’s your sister-in-law’s junior from Mornash. Same people. If you marry her, you won’t regret it.” Lately, Adam felt drawn to Mornash. It seemed mysterious. Jo Elara’s skills had blown his mind. And Master Marvin and that whole group had made Adam rethink them, big time. He didn’t want a good thing going to outsiders. If Radovan could marry Jo Elara, that’d be perfect. In his mind, Radovan would always be closer than Ezra Moore. Radovan suddenly got it—Adam really was thinking of him. Heat stung his eyes. He couldn’t help it; he lunged into his brother’s arms, voice thick. “Bro, thank you. Thanks for looking out for me like this…” In the end, his brother was still the same man who had pulled him from danger and shielded him back then. They hadn’t been close for years, but Radovan’s respect for Adam had never faded. A grown man throwing himself into his arms made Adam’s skin crawl. He shoved him off and said coldly, “Use your words. Don’t act like a sobbing maiden.” Radovan snorted a laugh. For the first time, even his brother’s disdain felt adorable. He straightened up and grinned. “Bro, I’m happy, okay? But I’ll probably let you down. I really don’t like that girl. She could be my little sis. But wife? No way.”
