Chapter 4 Alpha King

  • Michael Vaughn.
  • While I was cuddling close to her, my beta mind linked with me, telling me that there was an emergency attack. I was still feeling a slight pain in my left shoulder. I turned to look back at her; she was sleeping peacefully. I kissed her gently and said, "I'll come back for you." I said that before I slipped out of bed, and then I decided to follow through the window.
  • I ran through the lurking shadows; the forest called my name. I felt free because it's been a while since my wolf roamed freely after the attack that managed to inflict so many injuries. When I was back in the pack, I could see the worried look on each of their faces. They stared at me. Before Christ came to me and told me that Gamma Ralph was dead while trying to fight alone without informing me, the wolves had surrounded the Newhill pack.
  • I was internally pained, but I refused to facially show the pain I felt when I heard about the dismissal of my gamma.
  • "Get ready, Christ; we are going to fight them."
  • "We can't, Alpha; you are still in pain, and the rogue wolves are increasing in number," he warned me.
  • "I said get ready; we don't have much time for all these," I commanded, and he sighed as he nodded.
  • But before we left for the battle between the best warriors of the Newhill Pack and the wild rogues, we made sure that we were prepared. I don't want what happened the last time to repeat itself.
  • I made sure I carried my best weapons and loaded the guns with silver. The smell of wolves lingered in the air as we went to attack them wolves.
  • More wolves kept coming; most of the packs had retreated, and some packs had gone into extinction due to the number of rogue wolves. There have never been this many wolves. There was something about the wolves that I couldn't just lay my hands on.
  • The battle went on for two months. I was exhausted, but I was not giving up. Mostly I think about Ava Morales, the young lady I had taken the first time, but the lurking danger that kept hunting the pack was making me even more persistent to see if I could erase the wolves. In the entirety of history, no number of wolves has ever come this far in extincting great packs and killing many abled men.
  • My Gamma Christ followed suit; he was killed in an intense battle. I was barely able to survive; the rogue wolves were coming in their numbers, attacking the Newhill pack and my neighbouring packs.
  • I was slowly giving up, but the thought of seeing Ava Morales again kept me alive. I didn't know what I was doing, so one day I stood up from the chair in which I was sitting and went straight to the battlefield, where the decayed bodies of the rogue wolves and my able men were. I forgot the fact that I was an alpha. I sobbed, letting those tears spill. I don't care anymore.
  • I closed my eyes as I fell to the ground. Yes, I didn't want to give up, but my pack members were dying, and I wanted to save them.
  • Then I noticed some rogue wolves were approaching. That was when I heard a voice. I looked up to see a young lady in white. She looked down at me as she told me that I still had one more mission. I was perplexed by her words. I don't know what else to think of that. She gently touched my forehead, and an unknown power surged through my entire being. I felt alive again.
  • I opened my eyes, feeling like a new being. I growled so loudly that I let out a piercing sound that caused so much pain to the rogue wolves that had surrounded me. More rogues fell to the ground as they wriggled in pain.
  • I felt energetic; it was a new feeling altogether. I tried so hard to calm my nerves, but I weakly fell to the ground because that loud growl had taken a toll on me. Darkness was calling out to me as I completely blacked out. When I woke up, I found myself alone in my bedroom. I knew then that we were temporarily free from harm.
  • Then three great alphas of my neighbouring pack arrived; they all bowed to me as they told me that they'd be crowning me as the new alpha king because I had managed to save the entire region.
  • I was surprised, but I still accepted the title because I wanted to protect my pack at all costs.
  • When the packs were now living in peace, I went back to the pack where I was treated so I could search for Ava Morales, and that was the pack where I met the beautiful damsel, the lady my heart yearns for. The Redmoon Pack. I kept searching for her, but yet I couldn't find her. I recalled the promise I made to her, telling her I'd come back for her.
  • Six years passed so swiftly, yet I couldn't find her. At this moment, I am slowly losing my sanity. Tears rippled down my cheeks. After trying to control the ache in my heart for years, I wanted to let out the pain, but I kept it in as the alpha I was.
  • "Alpha," the voice of Rhain, which is now my new beta, sounded by the door. I immediately cleaned up my tears as I went outside to find out why he had summoned my presence.
  • He gave me a letter and told me that there'd be a conference meeting between many packs, so as the alpha king, I'd have to attend the meeting. The meeting that I have been trying to avoid for three years now because I have been sulking in pain.
  • "Tell them I can't."
  • "But you have to do this alpha, because if you don't make it this year again, then you will be dethroned as the alpha king." He informed me.
  • "Is that a threat?"
  • "That was what I was told to tell you, Alpha." He said looking down.
  • I nodded my head as I dismissed him. I let out a deep breath, and then Nathalie arrived with a bowl of soup. I recalled the way she had volunteered to render help to my pack by being one of the best healers that the pack needed.
  • "I brought a bowl of soup; please have some," she said. She served the bowl of soup, then she came close to me before she slowly whispered to my ears, "I can't
  • wait to have you as mine."
