Chapter 2 You Are Mine

  • Michael Vaughn.
  • "Alpha, the rogues are matching in our territories; they are attacking the commuters that traveled to Newhill Pack," Chris, my Beta, told me.
  • I balled my hands into fists as I stood up from the cushion chair I was sitting on.
  • I rushed out of the building and went straight ahead towards the forest, where they were filled with their lurking presence.
  • I took with me Beta Chris and Gamma Ralph. I noticed we were surrounded; we growled, showing my alpha instincts. I noticed their eyes were red and predatory, and their fangs were sharper and longer. I realized these were the rogue wolves that had completely gone feral, and there was no chance of redemption whatsoever.
  • One of them attacked, and I lunged at them. We fought, clawing, grasping, and digging into their bodies. Blood was spilled in the minutes, and I was exhausted.
  • I fell to the ground when I noticed that all the rogue wolves were now dead. I let out a deep sigh of relief. I turned to see if my gamma and beta were still alive, but gladly they were; they were bloody and badly wounded.
  • I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I just wanted to rest.
  • "Alpha!" Chris screamed my name.
  • Before I could realize what was happening, I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. The pain was excruciating, and I struggled to be freed, but the wolf had already done more damage. He inflicted more pain, clawing me as he bit me hard on the other shoulder, and then he moved to my neck, and all that happened in a matter of seconds. I growled, struggled, and made attempts to be freed. Beta and Gamma ran and managed to help me by killing the rogue wolf.
  • I was bleeding profusely, my head hurt, my body felt weak, and I felt like I was about to take my last breath. My eyelids felt heavy; the injuries inflicted on me were too big for me to heal them myself.
  • I closed my eyes, allowing myself to be consumed by the calling of darkness. "Alpha, alpha" were the last words I heard before I allowed myself to be fully consumed by the darkness.
  • The smell of coffee and cherries, along with a touch of home-baked bread, was calling out to me, begging to have a taste of it. I tried to open my eyes; the scent was intoxicating, and it was slowly making me desperate to have it by all means. My wolf, Kyle, growled; he was uneasy; he wanted to be let out.
  • I slightly opened my eyes, and I saw her. It was a rare beauty; she had soft brown curls, her eyes were the purest shade of blue, and her lips were quite tempting. I saw her soak a piece of clothing in water as she squeezed out the content. She turned to look at me, and she was startled when she saw my gaze focused on her.
  • "Ah, you are awake," she said, sounding startled.
  • I furrowed my brows. I couldn't help being curious as I asked her, "For how long was I out?"
  • "Three weeks," she said innocently.
  • "Since you are awake, I'll take my leave, and I can call your pack members," she told me as she turned to leave. I didn't fail to see the eyebags on her face; she looked weak and exhausted. My wolf wanted her so badly—to feel every inch of her skin and to beg as I shoved myself into her.
  • When she was about to reach the doorknob, she fell to the ground. I tried to pull myself out of bed, only to feel excruciating pain. I groaned; I couldn't move, yet I was staring at her lifeless body falling to the ground. My wolf was uneasy.
  • Then some group of wolves arrived and carried her with ease as they laid her on the bed, which was beside mine.
  • Days went by, yet I continued to stare at her. I wish to completely feel okay so I can touch and feel her.
  • Night arrives, the stars brighten, and the moon cascades its dim light into the lurking shadows. I felt energetic, and my wolf growled within me. Her scent lingered; it was more prominent. I stood up, not knowing where I got the strength. I stood up from the bed, went to her, and shifted some strands of her hair as I took a whiff of her scent.
  • Her plumb lips were calling out to me to feel and savor every inch of them. I didn't know when I found myself bringing my lips closer to hers as I gently kissed hers.
  • Her gaze was blurry when I did that. I was expecting her to push me or yell at me, but no, she weakly wrapped her hand around me, bringing me closer. She deepened the kiss, making me feel more engrossed with the kiss.
  • My wolf wanted more, and so did I. I tore my clothes in a split second. I groaned when she felt my bare skin with her soft, bare hands. She made me want more and wish for more. I felt her skin. I try so hard to keep my emotions at bay. I gently pulled out her clothes; her skin was just perfect for me. Our bodies entangled under the full moon, the moon goddess telling me that she was mine. I knew right from there that she was mine, and I couldn't let her stay behind. I'll come back for her regardless.
  • I kissed every inch of her skin, savoring every part of her body. She was moaning and digging her nails into my back, urging me to go further. Immediately, my wolf took charge as he became a bit more violent, but she was able to match up to my pace. I leaned closer to her ears as I asked, "What is your name?"
  • "Ava Morales." She whispered gently. It was evident she was still weak, but yet I wanted her desperately. So I slowly slide myself into her. I felt an obstruction; I knew it was her first time. I took my time. I want her to savor the pleasure that comes with giving her the pleasure of experiencing it for the first time. I leaned closer to her ears while staring at her beautiful features, and then I said, "You are mine, and no one can
  • take you away from me."
