Chapter 22 Day Six: Might As Well

• Emmett refilled his glass of vodka and stared into space. His mind was blank. He had stopped drinking after his friends left, but he went right back to it because he couldn't stand listening to the racing thoughts in his head anymore. Drinking had helped to block them from his mind, and now his mind was blank.
• He looked at the wall clock. It was 6:24 pm. He had barely 36 hours left before Mr. Campbell would return. And he had less than 30 hours to pay Don Giulio his money back.
• He shut his eyes and flashbacks of Don Giulio laying out the consequences of failing to pay back the money on time came to his mind. He saw Don Giulio smile at him with cold eyes.
