Chapter 83 Eighty-two

  • He opened the library door and stepped aside for his editor to enter. He inhaled the intoxicating aroma of lignin that prevailed in the room thanks to the hundreds of old books resting on the shelves. He closed the door and smiled a small smile as he noticed his editor staring raptly at one particular display case. There lay all her books published so far (including her most recent) and some literary awards she received; well, that Odette received on her behalf.
  • "This is lovely," her publisher murmured. "There's all your books and several literary awards for your career-how did you...?"
  • "That thing used to be in the living room of my old house," he reigned, slowly approaching until he was positioned next to the curly-haired man. "It was Odette. She represented me every time they nominated some of my work. I never expected to win some of those awards."
