Chapter 39

• JASON WAS not all that surprised when Evelyn had dashed to the front door immediately to make it to Brad's residence that night. It had taken him more than words to convince her to calm down and wait until the next day and they can confront him together.
• After a restless, mostly sleepless night, he was still mulling over the previous day's episode the next morning when Evelyn walked into the kitchen with a ferocious look on her face indicating it was time to go.
• She looked like she hadn't had much sleep either and he understood why. He even understood why she wasn't speaking to him now on their way to Brad's house. It was more than a little obvious that she didn't trust him. It would take some time for her to get used to the idea that he was fully on her side.
