Chapter 6

  • IRIS
  • The pain I felt in between my legs was nothing to write home about, coupled with the darkness and hunger I had to live with. I hope the goddess was enjoying the show because it just got better.
  • "Stand up!" One of the female guards yelled at me and I stood up. The other one roughly grabbed my hand and pulled me alongside them. I wondered where they were taking me.
  • During all three days in prison, I reminisced on my past, my present, and my future. I used to think I was special but now, all I know is that I have no reason to live. In a few days, I had turned worse than trash. I hated my parents, I hated myself, my parents, and the world. To hell with the goddess or whatever her name was.
  • I was taken to a large kitchen and was asked to sit on thr floor. I obeyed without arguing. A tray with food was placed in front of me to eat. At first, I felt uneasy but after my stomach growled, I began to eat. The food tasted so nice that I began rushing it. I almost choked on the food.
  • "Look at her, eating like a pig." One of the maids whispered. It didn't bother me because I've been called worse. After eating to my fill and drinking enough water, I was escorted to a room to get cleaned up.
  • According to what I heard when the maids were gossiping, I was supposed to go and meet the Alpha.
  • "Big deal," I rolled my eyes as I dressed into some new clothes. I looked more presentable than how I was a few days back.
  • "Let's go." One of the guards that led me there said and I followed quietly. I didn't want any problems as the environment was still very strange to me, even though I had been there for three days.
  • "Stand here while I inform him of your presence." She ordered and I did as she said. I watched her take a turn and that was it. She was wasting time to come back out so I decided to wander around a bit to see if there was a way I could escape if my only option comes down to that.
  • "I told you not to move." The stern voice of the lady guard invaded my head.
  • "I'm sorry." I apologized and went back to my original position. She led me into a bedroom where the mischievously handsome man sat. His eyes on me were hooded and his facial expression told no happy tale. Why did he look so alluring, yet so unapproachable?
  • "You're the reason my enemy got away, what are you going to do about it?" He asked.
  • "I'm sorry, sir, I had no idea." I bowed my head. I couldn't look him in the eye even though his eyes were threatening to pierce mine.
  • He waved his hand curtly to the female guard, and after a neck bow, I watched her leave.
  • "Why were you with that man?" He sneered.
  • "According to him, I was found by the river bank."
  • "And how did you get there?" He asked.
  • I bit my lower lip as my fingers intertwined just below my lower abdomen.
  • "My stepfather pushed me off a cliff," I replied.
  • Even after hearing such sad, horrible news, his stoic expression didn't change.
  • "And according to him, you met the same fate as my sister. I'm sorry about that but still, it's your fault he got away. So, I ask again, what are you going to do about that?" He stood up and began taking slow steps toward me.
  • My body tensed up but I was able to put it under control.
  • "Anything you want me to do. You can take me as a maid or a slave. I won't mind at all." I replied fearfully. He got to where I was standing and placed a hand on my head.
  • "Why do you give yourself away like that? Won't you fight for your life? You have no fault in this whole situation and yet, you take the blame. Why are you protecting him?"
  • "I'm not protecting him. I'd kill him if I have to. He… he took something that belonged to me and I want to make me pay badly. I have no pleasure in living anymore. So please, do whatever you want to do with me." I begged.
  • "Alright. What is your name?" He removed his hand and placed it on my shoulder.
  • I found his actions weird for someone who seemed quite mad at me earlier.
  • "Iris."
  • "Alright, Iris. I, Alpha Finn, welcome you to the Silver Dawn Pack. Normally, I'm supposed to claim you as my member but I will give you a chance to live amongst us and see if you'd like it here. If not, feel free to leave anytime." He smiled and my heart melted. How could someone so deadly be so cute? And he smelt like sand after rainfall. I was intoxicated.
  • "I will have someone take you to your new home. You can start school whenever you feel like it. We have pack runs every Friday and community cleaning routines every Saturday. I will have my Beta relate everything to you." He said cheerfully.
  • I pinched myself to check if I was dreaming but no, it was all real.
  • "Why are you nice to me? Everyone is supposed to be wicked and rude." I felt my eyes tearing up. Why was I so emotional? That man was nice to me before he raped me.
  • "Because that's how I am. The world must shown you its bad side but this is me welcoming you to the good side. I can't promise you that everyone will be good to you here but I will be good." He took my hand and shook it. It reminded me of the first and last shake between Fenrir and me.
  • The door suddenly flung open and a beautiful lady walked in, annoyed.
  • "Why are you touching her?" She asked, staring angrily at our hands. I quickly removed my hand and stepped a few feet away from the Alpha.
  • Must be his Luna.
