Chapter 28

  • Abe grabbed his swords, carried them in one hand, and left his room. He felt like he hadn’t slept at all and had to wonder how his family managed to do this day after day for so long. His Uncle Michael had given Liri a large room, just down from the girl’s cave, which he found out was more of an office slash lounge for the women. The entirety of the family had converged on that room for hours into the night, adding to the wall of notes and discussing other possibilities until, one by one, they left to get some sleep. She had a brilliant mind, and the mere fact that she was thought of as nothing more than a cow pissed him off in her own realm.
  • He rounded the corner and almost walked into a small brown-haired woman. He didn’t know her name but had seen her around a lot.
  • Oh, just who I was looking for,” she smiled up at him and then held out her hand, “Elder Arian said to give you this for the Solrelm woman.”
