Chapter 2 Meeting Him

  • Eve
  • Five minutes until the bell ring. It’s the Friday before spring break and everyone is eagerly waiting for the bell to be released. I on the other hand, am not so eager. Not that I did not want to go on break, but recently home doesn’t feel like home for me.
  • Let me back up a little bit, about a month ago my parent decided to get a divorce. My mother was given full custody of me. Not that I need it, I’m 17 turning 18 this year and will soon become a legal adult. Anyway, we had abruptly moves here after the divorce.
  • My parent owns one of the biggest logistic companies in the country. They build this empire back in high school. With mom holding half the share my dad holds the other half. So, when we had to move money was not an issue.
  • After the divorce, my mother indulge herself in alcohol and basically ignore my existence all together. To her, it like I don't even exist anymore. Don't get me the wrong I don't hate my mother, but it pains me every day to watch her slowly falling into the abyss with her sorrow.
  • All because of my father. The guy responsible for this whole mess. Ever since I turn 5, dad was always away. Some business trip, most he was fucking around at some women at their place. My mother was busy chasing after him that she too had forgotten about me.
  • I grew up alone and ignored. In order to occupy my time, I decides pick up some extracurricular activity. My favorite being running and martial arts. Both activities make me feel true and stress free.
  • One thing for sure, I swore to never get involve with the playboys. My mother being the prime example, that I do not want to follow. To end up in this endless cycle of pain is too much for me bear.
  • *Ring, Ring, Ring!!!* Students start pool at the entrance at the first sign of the bell and I dreaded the idea of going home. I take my time gathering my things and waited for everyone to leave before saying goodbye to the teacher.
  • “Goodbye, Ms. McBain.” I call, which caught her attention.
  • “Bye Evelyn, enjoy your spring break.” She smiles and holler back.
  • Ms. McBain is my home room teacher and probably the only person that I've talk to ever since I started School here a week ago. We’ve been here for month, but I was too busy settling in. The move was not plan so it took me a month to deals with the transferring process.
  • By now the halls are almost empty, with only a couple students talking by their locker. A good thing for me because I'm short, shorter than the average Junior’s girls. I'm a 4ft 10", while everyone towers over me at 5 ft. and over. So, I don't have to worried about being push over when Everyone tries to skedaddle out of here.
  • As I trudge through the hallway freely, still dreading the idea of going home. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turn around to look. In front of me is a petite girl, long black hair, brown eyes, with large glasses.
  • She had kami tank under her unzipped sweater, with high rise skinny jean. Pair that with pink flat, and she look sweet but nerdy at the same time. She dress like a that get pick on daily. I recognized her though. She in my biology class.
  • “Hi. My name Melody and I need your help. Can you come with me?" She said with a sheepish smile. She looks a bit wary and kept looking behind me. I thought that was weird but chug it up to her being nervous.
  • “Sure.” Well, since I didn't want to go home anyway. I might as well help out for as long as possible.
  • “Thank you, follow me.” She turns and I follow her like a lost child.
  • Having only been here for a week I had no idea where we were heading to. We made our way past the few students in the hallway. I thought I saw a nod her way but chug it up to my imagination.
  • She took me pass the lit hallway, into a darker one and then we exit out the back door into the field. We cross the field and round the corner behind the school.
  • From my position, I can make out an old shed with it door slightly ajar. This area is quiet without another person insight. Ok, this is getting weird. But if she tries anything, I'm more the capable to defend myself.
  • “Ok, are we here? What do you need help with?” Melody turns around with a concern look on her face, I was confuse but didn’t dwell on it.
  • “I've volunteered to do fund raiser event for a feed my hungry child. And I need the table in there to setup the booth.” She open the door and point to an old table in the back.
  • This shed is used to store old equipment gym equipment. There is dust everywhere and the smell, Ugh! I don't want to talk about it. When is the last time they clean this place?
  • Melody goes in first to reassure me and again, I follow. She point to the table in the far back and urge me to go in further. *SLAM!!* and *CLICK*. I turn around in hurry but no Melody. I rush to the door and try to open it, but it is locked. I'm locked in. Fuck!
  • “Melody opens the damn door right now!! Open it or I will give you a piece of my mind when I got out of here!!!" I shouts at the top of my lung.
  • “I'm sorry, they made me do it, I'm so sorry.” she whimpered like a pitiful puppy. There were footsteps and then silent.
  • “Great, I was just trying to be nice and where do I end up, locked and alone. Next time I will not give a damn about who needs help.” I mumble to myself still facing the door.
  • *Rustle, Rustle*
  • I was in the middle of cursing myself for being so stupid, when I heard rustle coming from behind me. I pause, terrify. Shit! This place is haunted. I am terrified of ghost since I was a child. If it human I can take but ghost, boy I’m out of here.
  • Suddenly the hair on my back stand it end and refuse to look back. Afraid of what I might see. But curiosity got the best of me, and I had to see if it a thing or a human.
  • I was about to turn around but, then there is hand around my waist. I jump but also feel relieve that it not ghosts. I let go of breath that I was holding but paused.
  • “I want a piece of you too?” I heard a low and husky male voice whisper my ear.
  • Not only that, there something else. I can feel his bulge on my back. This creep is turn on and he not ashamed of it. If he thinks I'm some easy shag, that he can hump and dump. He had another thing coming.
  • “Want a piece of me? Then take it.” I said with a menacing smirk, before elbowing him with all the hatred I had for my father. His grip loosens and I took the chance to turn around and punch him square in the face. He landed face first on the ground and went limp. I wait for his reaction but got nothing.
  • Few minutes pass and still nothing. Ok, now I'm concern. I know that my fist cannot kill but, the impact from the fall might lead to a bigger problem, even death. Especially, the way he falls.
  • “Ugh, for God’s sake. Why do I have to worry about some guy that just sexually harasses me?” I whisper under my breath.
