Chapter 34
- JULIAN STYLES POV
- The exhibition of UMBRA ART was on the news. I watched it on my tab, my jaws locking up in anger as I read the review of acclaimed artists on what they thought of the centerpiece that the BlACKWOOD had chosen for the exhibition. Every time they spoke about it, Hazel's name was too, and her image always accompanied it.
- All my life I had tried to discourage her from painting to avoid something like this. From the very start, I had seen her potential. I should have been firmer when I had the chance. This wouldn't have happened if I'd set fire to that god-damned studio and stopped her from ever picking up a paintbrush. It was too late now.
