Chapter 36 Watch your back, Luna

• When I woke up, the Alpha was already gone. I grabbed the mattress, exactly where he lay when he was in my bed, I smelt it, closing my eyes in the process. I enjoyed the scent, it reminded me of the thing we did last night. I never had it that rough before. Never. He was truly an Alpha— a position I now think now he sure well deserved. I wanted to stand on my feet, but my legs still hurt. Hush! I killed the idea. I laid back on the bed, relaxing. I started smiling. To be honest, I didn’t know what was amusing me but I was just so happy. Drake's picture was all over my head. It was as though he was still there with me. I could feel him. I could even hear his heartbeat even though he was not there with me. Even though my hearing abilities were good but it wasn’t close to picking up the sound of someone’s heartbeat who is more than ten, maybe twenty or more meters away from me. But Drake’s heartbeat echoed, rummaging in my ear. This was the effect of the mate bond, I reckoned. Yes, the mate bond is that strong. I have heard similar stories, so I knew the source of the sound without anyone telling me. I touched the area of the bond, whereupon I could feel the fresh scar. The good thing about it was it had healed. I mean it had healed completely. That was the advantage of being a werewolf. We have an incredible healing power than was beyond the norm. 
• I sighed. I put both hands beneath my neck, supporting my head. I shut my eyes, facing the ceiling. I tried to go back to sleep. I needed more strength so it was worth the effort. Gentle, girlish footsteps approached my doorstep. I sprung up to my head immediately, my eyes abruptly opening. Pardon me, I would have been killed by Audrey in a surprise attack. So it wasn’t really my fault that I had racked up my comprehensive alertness to my surrounding. If I had a personal weapon, I wouldn’t mind taking it with me to answer the door. But since I didn’t have any, I decided to use the alternative.
